So walkable- about a half mile to La Villita and the Riverwalk, just a bit farther for the Alamo or bars and restaurants like The Friendly Spot. So nice not worrying about parking when seeing the sights, or having a designated driver when we wanted to have drinks out. The Tower of the Americas is always in view, and the Yanaguana park in front of that is a hub for family activities, local artisans selling their wares, and some water you can splash your feet and paws in.
This is an old, historic home- nicely renovated but don’t expect new construction or a modern layout. The master bath is off the kitchen, not connected to the master bathroom but not far either.
The house is well stocked with games- jumanji, monopoly, connect 4, several decks of playing cards. We stayed when it was 96 degrees out and the AC had no trouble keeping us comfy. We had some minor technical issues at the start of our stay and the owners were very quick to respond and came right over to fix the issue. This is a quickly improving neighborhood so I expect the rent for this gem will increase soon, but if we can afford it we’ll definitely stay here again next time.
