Charmer in Downtown SA. Near River Walk / Alamo!

Our beautiful light filled home built at the turn of the century is located in the Five Points Neighborhood of Downtown San Antonio. Our home is a short drive to all the major attractions, including the River Walk, The Alamo, Six Flags, and SeaWorld, and is walkable to many restaurants, stores, and conveniences We provide an amazing outdoor oasis that includes a gazebo with a fan to give you shelter from the sun on those hot days, and a lighted firepit area to enjoy the outdoors day or night.

After heading up the large front porch you enter the home into a large foyer area with a bench to sit on. From the foyer you can walk straight into the sitting room, a nice comfortable spot in the center of the home with a speakeasy feel to it. The two dedicated bedrooms are large with tons of light entering through the massive windows with area rugs and ceiling fans, and king sized beds. There is an additional bed in the main living room that is a queen size sofa bed also. There are two bathrooms, one with a standing shower and one with a clawfoot soaking tub.

Our guests have access to our entire home with the exception of our locked supply and linen closet.

Our neighborhood is filled with many long-time residents, some well over 30 years. The neighbors are amazing people and very friendly. It is a downtown neighborhood, however, and there can be some transients/homeless walking around as in any downtown neighborhood. We have always had pleasant interactions with everyone. There is Sanchos Cantina, the Cove, and MK Davis restaurants, all within a very short walk as well as a local market for basic groceries just a block away. Also, being in downtown, it can be more noisy that a rural area home so please be aware of that also.

San Antonio has a seeminglyendless list of things to do! We find that the quickest way from point a to point b outside of walking distance is Rideshare such as Uber or Lyft You may also opt to take the city bus which can be caught just a half block away.

We provide a BBQ grill under a fan cooled gazebo. Or you can visit the firepit area and our propane fueled fire table. The backyard is an amazing place to relax.

River Walk trip

Sweet Yellow House!
This house is adorable, precisely as it appears in the photos - spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The neighborhood is a little rundown, but we never felt unsafe. The little yellow house is the gem of the area. The hosts were extremely responsive, helpful, and kind.

A wonderful hidden gem!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is close to many awesome foodie spots and is walking distance to a yummy ramen house. The house itself is lovely, bed are comfortable, vintage details are charming and the backyard is the best! We will definitely be coming back.

Charming home!
We had a great stay at the “Speakeasy.” It has been charmingly remodeled and furnished to capture the historic nature of the home—hardwood floors, high ceilings, wainscoting, etc. Comfortable beds and furniture, coffee and snacks made it welcoming. Agree with former reviews about the neighborhood, but it was quiet at night, and lovely to sit outside in the backyard for morning coffee. Thanks for a lovely home base during our time in San Antonio!

Amazing little getaway!!
House was immaculate, location was perfect and close to River walk and all the breweries and golfing! Property owner was great at all communications and very nice to deal with! Everything you needed was already included at the house and the back yard set up with fire pit and entertainment area was really pretty!

Great stay in San Antonio
The property is very clean, well kept and nicely decorated! The furnishings fit the period of the home and were very comfortable! Ben and Kat were very nice to deal with and provided us with some nice extra amenities (snacks, coffee & creamer, laundry soap, etc) that really made a difference! We also really enjoyed the private outdoor space - having drinks by the fire after long days of running around! Nice location in relation to Alamo and Riverwalk! All around it was a great stay and would stay there again! Thanks Kat & Ben!

Home with wonderful character
Interior of home was very comfortable with great character. Exterior was a little tired and the neighborhood a bit on the gritty side. Hosts were very nice with great communication. Very close to downtown San Antonio, quite convenient. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, train horns blared long and loud during the night.

The location gave us quick and easy access to downtown. The home was more than clean and comfortable. It was an exquisite example of an historical building that has been beautifully and lovingly restored. The modernizations only made it more comfortable without detracting from the history of the home.

Good property
The place was cozy and space was plentiful. Do keep in mind that its an older property and when we traveleved the heater broke down and it just happened to be during one of the coldest nights in texas. We asked if the host for extra blankets available but was turned down so we had to purchase them. Also the neighborhood doesnt feel safe to walk around. Im still leaving a 5star since everything else was as expected and its excellent value for the price.

Very clean property. The owners did an excellent job emailing communication, although I totally missed the checkout one with instructions. My fault. Family friendly atmosphere, but not so much for those couples vacationing together who are looking for privacy. Although there are cute closable French doors on the bedrooms, they are more of an open concept. The bathroom door (with the shower, is just off the foyer around the corner from the kitchen and has a frosted entry door. This suites us without any problem, but again sort of a more relaxed concept. So as long as your comfortable with the company your traveling with, this is a mute problem. The other bathroom is tucked away in a hallway and has a solid door. The backyard is very inviting and we spent time there enjoying the weather and playing games…and of course eating. The surrounding solid fence provides privacy for our family and it was well maintained. The kitchen was fantastic!, but would have liked a few more dish towels. Again, very clean and very authentic quaint property. Enjoyed our stay! Would stay again.

Perfect for BMT Graduation stay!
When our daughter went to basic training at Lackland AFB, we knew we were going to want to stay within San Antonio to be there for her graduation. It was my husband and I, and our adult son. This property was exactly what we needed! Quiet, but close to the airport, the base, various attractions, restaurants and different places to shop. Our hosts were great about communicating, and made us feel very welcome! If you have a loved one graduating BMT, note that this place is within “the Loop” of where graduates are allowed to visit. We were able to give our daughter a break to relax and chat after being unable to speak regularly with us for the weeks prior, while still getting to see the Alamo and River Walk. Shout out to the Cove, a funky burger/sandwich shop (with lots of vegan options if that’s what you’re looking for), San Tacos for Mexican food we Virginians had never had before, and Kimura, a funky ramen shop literally around the corner from this property! Heartily recommend this place!

Charming vacation property
We were fortunate enough to spend a few days at The Speakeasy. It’s a spacious property with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Our first impression was this is great!! The house was spotless, and very comfortable. It has a nice outdoor area with seating and a grill. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts had provided coffee pods and even a few snacks, which were appreciated. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and also had shower gel and shampoo. We have a Tahoe and were able to park on the driveway off the road. We used Uber to get down to the Riverwalk $12 plus tip. Cheaper than parking down there.and readily available. We will definitely book this property the next trip to San Antonio

A real gem!
The pictures on the site are very accurate. The house is beautiful, spacious, comfortable and styled with a glamorous touch. There is a lovely backyard with a picnic table, grill and a firepit with chairs around it. The location is great! A little over a mile to the Riverwalk, making it easy for most to leave the car at the house and not have to hassle with the crowds trying to park, not to mention, saving the outrageous parking garage fees! Ben and Kat were terrific! Very timely in responses, gracious and accommodating. While I know they can't guarantee early arrival, I had requested it. Even though the house was rented the night prior to our arrival, they asked the cleaners if they could finish a bit early and they did. We will definitely stay again the next time we find ourselves in San Antonio!
