The Space:
There is plenty of space and natural light to enjoy in the spacious and bright living room at The Old Fireman’s House. It is furnished with two comfy blue sofas and a large wall-mounted Smart TV, ideal for cosy nights in with friends and family. There is also a log burner to keep you warm and cosy during the winter months.
The kitchen is a stylish space with all the modern appliances you need to make the most of your self-catering stay. It has dark blue cupboards and drawers, which makes it look cohesive and neat and you’ll also have direct access into the enclosed back yard from here, giving you the chance to dine al fresco and make the most of the barbeque while breathing in the fresh sea air.
If you’d prefer to eat inside, the dining area is a great space for hosting and entertaining all of your guests. With a long wooden dining table and roomy seating for all six guests staying at The Old Fireman’s House, you’ll enjoy your time here.
The main bedroom at The Old Fireman’s House exudes sophistication and style with a dark blue colour scheme and a super-king-size bed. The bed can be split into two singles upon request, providing a flexible sleeping arrangement in the property. The dressing table in this room can double up as an excellent working space.
The second bedroom has a king-size bed that can also be split into two small single beds upon request. It has bedside drawers and lamps, which makes it ideal for a cosy bedtime read or to store your belongings.
The third bedroom is appointed with a small double bed and has a neutral colour scheme. It is perfect for guests looking for a cosy and comfortable environment. This room also has bedside drawers and lamps for your convenience.
The family bathroom continues with the dark blue theme that features throughout the property. It has a large shower, a wash basin, and a WC.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property/ The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Free on-street parking is available outside the property on a first come, first served basis. No permit is required.
Please note that one well-behaved dog is allowed to stay at The Old Fireman’s House.
The Neighborhood:
The Old Fireman’s House is located in the charming Victorian Spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
Located in the heart of the town, the property is only a short walk from the beach and lower promenade. Take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
The Old Fireman’s House is close to all local amenities including independent shops, bars, restaurants and bistros.
Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and the lovely Saltburn is featured. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!
Getting Around:
The Old Fireman’s House is within walking distance of all that Saltburn has to offer and within 30 minutes’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Saltburn Train Station is a short walk away and has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Saltburn. Hop on the Arriva North East route and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby. The Moorsbus route has drop offs at Newton Under Roseberry, Great Ayton, Stokesley and Helmsley.
