Cannot say enough good stuff about this property! Every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our only regret is not staying longer! 10/10 Highly recommend
We loved our stay at the Gathering Place! Ages 10 day old to a young 64 had a great time enjoying the amenities including children’s toys to hot tub and pool table/pong pong/video shooting game. The cookers in our group really appreciated the very well stocked kitchen. The bunkhouses and bath houses were so clever and clean. When the fam was polled, “ Do this again” a resounding yes from all. We had a wonderfull stay. And Salmon is a hidden gem of Idaho. Thanks Tracey!
This property was amazingly supplied and stocked. We have stayed at several properties for our family reunions and none have been as well stocked as this one. From the kitchen to the bathroom, it had everything we could possibly need. Plus, Tracy had host gifts, such as a delicious apple pie welcoming us. The kids enjoyed the game room in the garage, slept in the bunk house, and played in the yard. It was a wonderful place!
This is definitely THE PLACE to rent for any large family gatherings, reunions, etc. Everything was perfect, and every little detail was taken care of. We had 4 RVs, and about 8 families packed in for our daughter’s graduation party. The river was a little too high for fishing this time of year, but the big pasture was perfect for whipple ball games, flashlight tag for the kids, and soaking up some sun. This was our second time enjoying this property and it won’t be the last!
This was the perfect place for our family reunion of 26 people. We had grandma and grandpa, 6 couples and a bachelor, and 11 grandkids. The main house had enough common space for us all to congregate there. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all open so we could interact wherever we were sitting. The ping pong table, pool table and kayaks were great. The creek behind the house was perfect for the older kids to play in. The hot tub was perfect at the end of the day. There is a box of cushions for the outdoor chairs that also has some more outdoor games. I wish I'd noticed those yard games before our final night.
Owner was quick to reply to my text.
This really was perfect. We would stay here again.
A couple of things to note: There are no lifejackets. We went into town and rented some from a rafting company. The water behind the house wasn't deep enough for the kayaks when we were there (July 2023). You can take them to a few spots on the Salmon River where it runs through town, but the water was too rough for our group. We went up to Lake Williams for several hours. You will need to have your own way to transport them. We had three on car racks and the other three in an SUV.
In town: Nothing is open on Sunday and everything closes down at 9pm on the other nights, so shop accordingly.
Great rental - and as good, or better than advertised. We were 21 people and there was loads of spare room, can easily accommodate more in the bunk houses. The entire group enjoyed the hot tub and pool/table tennis room. The kitchen is well equipped for most meals you can think of. Some toys & games in the house. In the area we went whitewater rafting (North Fork), used the kayaks in-town, did some day trips around the Challis mining area. Everyone was pleased with the house, the amenities, and the trip. Separate new shower building with three bathrooms and tubs/showers. Made it very nice for a larger group. We highly recommend this rental!!!
There were 35 of us that slept here and 9 more that stayed elsewhere. We had a great time and the host had so many things at the house that we could use. We went tubing one day on the Salmon River south of town to downtown. There were 25+ tubes and 7 kayaks. Enough chairs and tables to set up outside to eat. A BBQ that worked great for our large group.
The living room is big and we all fit in it one evening for an activity with some on the floor. The couch is great for lounging. Amazing little ice machine. Great bathroom trailer with showers. Ping pong and pool table were a hit in the garage. Lots of parking. A doe and her twins came every morning to visit.
For a small town Salmon has a lot to do and The Savage Grill was a great place to eat. They accommodated 40 of us quickly.
Sharkey’s hot springs is about 20 minutes away. Very well maintained by BLM and they accept interagency passes or $3 a person over 16.
Lemhi pass is an hour drive with a beautiful picnic area, lots of wildlife and two short (less than 1/2 mile) hikes, one to a spring that feeds into the Missouri River where Lewis and Clark explored. The other at westward view. With signs giving stories of explorers and pioneers that came through the area.
We are thinking of booking next year with the other side of our family. .
Wonderful host. Kids had a great time and loved staying in the bunk house. Lots of things to do from exploring the river to playing ping pong and pool. Extremely well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to feed large crowd.
We had a great time at the gathering place. The bunkhouses and main home provided just what we needed for our family gathering. Would definitely stay here again.
