"This is a very cool house but the photos and the reality are not one and the same. I was shocked at how rustic the kitchen was. The only pic of the kitchen is the fabulous gas range, but there is a reason they don't show you the rest. It is tiny, with not much storage or countertop space. the marble sink is old and very small. It was a struggle cooking in there. "As in all prior reviews, a "10" from us. The house is a modern design, fully equipped, with great view over old Alba. We didn't use the pool, but it is large and always clean. Easy walk into Centro; we also found parking when we drove into town. Best part was our host. Always accessible. As an example. we had a problem with our car one day, and he volunteered to go with us to a mechanic and help us out. We've stayed in a number of VRBO's. This was at the top. Highly recommended. "

"I am not one who typically writes reviews but I really couldn't have asked for a better home to spend a few nights in Piemonte. The house was big enough to have intimacy amongst friends and couples staying with us, warm enough to bring us all together to raise a glass, knife, and fork. The house felt like a home and we only wish it wasn't November and we could have spent more time relaxing by the pool. Can't wait to come back. Miss it already."

"Our group of 6 adults stayed at the villa for 5 days while exploring the surrounding wine region and relaxing after a wedding. The villa was amazing. There was plenty of space for all guests, comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and perfectly manicured lawn and pool area. Marco, Lonela and Christian were great to work with and so friendly, especially through our language barriers. "It was a pleasure to stay in Villa Barbara. Everything was clean and place was quiet and looked like brand new. Special kudos to all of the complimentary food - cake, eggs, milk, wine, water, bread, cheese, salami, hazel nuts - everything we needed for the breakfast for couple of days.
