Nice stay
Had a good time staying there. Little too far from Saint Tropez but overall nice stay.

Great view, comfortable, no mini bar or coffee
The room we took has a great view and is quite comfortable in terms of mattress and pillows. The staff are ok They don't have a minibar in the room nor coffee and the service charge is 14 euro extra for room service which maybe the highest in the world. Breakfast for 1 in the room costs 18 euro and then 14 euro service charge!!! Quite high!! And they write it in a vague way so you don't feel it while ordering! Other than that, as value for money it's good

Old and run down, staff not very helpful
The carpets in our room were stained, water marks on the wall, staff left us for 1hr 30 mins before our room was ready (2.5hrs after checkin started) we weren't even offered a drink, and at 7euros a beer, that would have been nice. We asked for an iron, their response was "well if we can get one back from someone else", again not very helpful. On the plus side, the restaurant is delicious and the staff were pretty good in there. The pool is lovely and the views are great. It is about 6km from St Maxime, not walking distance. our room was below the restaurant so from 6am you could hear the scraping of chairs. Our room was a room used as a suite but when used as a single room, the doors in between we're locked. This meant we had no safe in our room, despite being told all rooms have safes. The wifi is intermittent and non existent if you are on floor 3 or below. Overall, would be fine if you are going out and exploring the local area, not for a weeks stay.
Lovely view
Delicious food in the restaurant

A grand facility
This is a great find for the Cote d'Azure region. Close to Sainte-Tropez and spectacular ocean view. You have to enjoy a daily mountain drive on narrow winding roads and tight underground parking. A very fun driving experience for those that love driving and Europe. This is a grand facility that is tired but shouldn't be ignored.

Nice place, rooms were adequate, most staff members we're friendly. Very nice hotel if your goal is to get away from all things convenient. About a 10 min drive up the hill from St Maxine. The closest train station is St Rafael about 40 mins drive. Very secluded and quiet. The golf course looked very beautiful and you received a discount if you were staying at the hotel.

I have been using this hotel for more than 12 years. I had it reasonable, comfortable and as I do not use the facilities other than the golf course, I find it suitable for my needs. It needs desperate complete total refurbishment for everything in the hotel and soon. The staff are helpful and cheerful, but some speak French only which is a drawback as I, and my colleagues are not fluent in the French language. Room service is slow, but acceptable.

A perfect hotel for a bit of peace and quiet. The hotel and rooms are very nice inside and it has a lovely pool and bar area. The reception staff are really friendly but the girls who work in the breakfast area need to learn how to smile and be much more friendly. Other than that, we had a pleasant time.

The Amarante Golf/Spa Hotel near St Tropez
Views great. The location was good with car. Breakfast was good within a nice breakfast room with great views. Our room was terrible - the smell was a musty/mouldy. The room was dirty The decor was very much in need for updating. We needed to navigate through two lift system to get down to our 2nd floor, smelly/dirty room. WIFI in the room was not strong, my Children had to sit by the main room door to get slightly better wifi. This hotel was our low point on our three week holiday whilst staying in 5 different hotels in France.

Bad experience - wasted of time
Booked in for two days in a superior room with sea view. When I got into the room, it was right at the end of the hotel and had views of trees and no sea view, room also did not have any wifi as specified. The condition of the room was poor, and looked like it had not been redecorated since the 80's, and seemed more like a 2 or 3 star hotel, not a four star. Complained about the room and lack of wifi and gave the hotel 4 chances to rectify the situation, wasting half a day waiting for them to change my room as promised, which they never did. In the end had to abandon the room change as they were taking too long (they ended up ringing me on my last night in the evening to say a room was ready - pointless). Also, made the excuse up that the hotel was fully booked (even though they said I could pay to upgrade my room for something similiar with a better view and wifi). TV: Only had 12 channels (all french) Access: Had to use 2 lifts and a bit of walikng inbetween to get to my room. Location: 10 minutes drive from St Maxine (nice little town near the sea) Bathroom: Dated but okay Room: Dated and not so great (orange 70s theme) Staff: Generally customer service was bad (more worried about getting more money, themselves, than helping customers resolve issues) Overall: Have stayed at many hotels over the years, this one was probably the worst for customer service, as well as the condition of the hotel

Lovely relaxing Hotel fab views over St Tropez
Got stuck in the town on arrival. No shuttle bus after 6.20pm no taxi available . A few Miles out of town and up a steep steep hill unable to walk here. You definitely need a car to stay here. A Local Restaurant owner ran us to the hotel in his car, after they rang our hotel and realised we were stranded!! Hotel could do with a repaint or makeover. Staff are excellent well trained, polite and very friendly No fridge or coffee making facility in room which is a pity however I would return no problem , with a car next time.

Nice hotel. Could do with bit of modernisation.
Nice hotel. Food at Dinner was lovely and restaurant staff especially good. Hotel was obviously once very luxurious but starting to look a bit old - could do with repainting. It is also a little way away from sainte maxime and is difficult to get to without paying for a taxi, although there is a free hotel shuttle bus to and from the town. Staff can speak English but not fluently. So be prepared.

Great place to stay
Before getting there I was worry because the hotel had a few bad reviews. But loved the place staff was nice. The view and the pool outstanding. The room was comfortable. And if you have a car it is a great place quiet out of the downtown busy places.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, loved it!!!
I was extremely happy with our 2-day stay at this hotel. We were on a 14-day trip to Europe including Greece, Italy and France. After changing hotels so many times before this and spending a lot of time in hot cities, subways, etc. this place was like a breath of fresh air. It's about a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful beaches of St. Maxime, which is a very nice little town close to St. Tropez. The drive up the road to the hotel is beautiful with flowers lining the road. The neighborhood consists of beautiful homes with pools, flowers, etc. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful. Everyone spoke English and was more than willing to help us with a variety of things, including translating the menu in the gorgeous rooftop restaurant and checking on our train schedule due to the train accident outside of Paris. The room was very comfortable with a porch overlooking the pool and beautiful view of the golf course and Mediterranean in the distance. Breakfast was also excellent and was included with our room. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Great place a bit out of town.
Really liked this hotel. It is anti out of saint maxims but the do have a free bus that goes there and back a few times a day. Extra friendly staff. Great pol and view. Nice restaurant. A bit of luxury that our children loved. Our air conditioning wasn't working but they gave is a new room. Defiantly recommend.

Impressive!
Fabulous hotel. A little more expensive than we would usually stay in but it was a last minute search. Stunning view from the balcony and the pool area. We didn't eat here, breakfast seemed even more expensive than usual. Don't even contemplate without a car,it is off the beaten track, but it is lovely.

Very nice view from the hotel/room
We had a good time, the room was really clean and spacious. We had a very nice view on Sainte Maxime and the sea. The breakfast/dinner room is very nice, with a similar view as the one from the hotel. Downsize: the hotel is 10 minutes away from the center of Saint Maxime and 25 minutes away from Saint Tropez, but the view and quietness is worth the ride.

Pleasantly surprised.
We needed an "airport" hotel for one night and took a chance on this hotel as I was unfamiliar with the name. The pictures of the rooms looked nice, but for the price, I was a bit worried that pictures might be deceiving. After traveling for nearly 23 hours on an overseas flight, we were exhausted, and upon arriving to SFO, the hotel staff had arranged for prompt transfer, and greeted us warmly. The "boutique" style hotel was absolutely wonderful. Beautifully decorated, and it was obvious that customer satisfaction was a top priority. We almost wished our flight could have been delayed one more night! Will definitely try to come back to this location.

Quite location with a nice birds eye view
My wife and I stayed there for two nights as part of our honeymoon trip as we were passing through St. Tropez. We booked this hotel as most hotels closer to St. Tropez were booked fairly early in Spring! The hotel is located on a hillside and the Lobby level is actually the top level of the hotel. All the rooms and restaurants are located under the ground (Lobby) floor. Due to the location and how the hotel is situated all of the rooms except for the 5th floor on the back building of the East wing seem to have a view of the sea and the St. Maxime hills. The 5th floor seems to be blocked by the roof of the front building of the East wing. It is an older hotel and looks outdated. However, it is very clean and the staff are pleasent. Most of the rooms; if not all; seem to have a large balcony. Ours had one and we enjoyed a few drinks there. Getting to the hotel is a bit troublesome. Do not trust your navigation system in getting you there. During the holiday / summer vacation seasons the road leading to St. Maxime from the gulf is very busy. On Friday, August 10th, we spend about an hour to get from the fork branching St. Tropez and St. Maxime to the hotel. Past rush-hour traffic it takes about 10 minutes to go to downtown St. Maxime and ~ half hour to get to St. Tropez. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

False marketing of hotel on website..beware!!
We did not get a room anything like was advertised on the website. I complained to the manager and they were completely unaccommodating. We are extremely disappointed that we did not get what we paid for. We were misled and it ruined our holiday. The hotel, pool were fair. But the service was awful and accommodations old, dirty and outdated. Very, very disappointing.

30 min. to civilization, rude service, no english
1. Rude staff, that does not take fault for anything. 2. Need to elevators and walking to get to your room. In our case one elevator was out of service and had to walk. No one to help u to your room, did not tell us the elevator was broken. 3. Don't speak or understand English at front desk need to connect u to some one else which takes about 10 minutes to get through to. Don't answer their phones. 4. One person working all night, feel inconvenienced when ask for towels. 5. Don't give late check out unless pleaded and they gave only 30 min. (12:30) 6. Don't have ice 7. Roll their eyes at u 8. Don't help u with luggage to check out 9. Empty hotel, spooky at night 10. no room service at night, no bar, no food 11. 30 minutes away from anywhere to get food or human contact 12. Narrow, curvy streets to get to hotel, long time to get there 13. Worst hotel we stayed at 14. No lights, dark street getting to the hotel
