"We had a wonderful time at this house. There were only two of us but it can definitely accommodate a larger group. The house was just what we envisioned when looking to find a place in this area and it was just as pictured. Pascal and I believe his wife met us when we arrived and showed us around / gave us a tour of the house and property. The area seemed very centrally located to various day trips we wanted to take in the loire valley. This was a great house - we would definitely stay here...

"We had an amazing visit to the heart of the Loire Valley. This is a beautifully renovated old building in the quaint old village of Larcay. A 2 minute walk to the river or an amazing little restaurant called Les Planchettes. Easy access to Tours and the many castles and vineyards in the area. It feels like travelling back in time but with all of the modern amenities. Thanks to Sylvain and Adele for everything, including the welcome bottle of delicious Vouvray! Highly recommended."

"Upon arrival we were warmely greeted by Jocelyne and Jean Claude who showed us around the cottage. The cottage is very nicely furnished with all you need for a relaxing vacation, It would comfortably accomodate 10 as it is very spacious, there were only 4 of us so we had plenty of space. The kitchen is well equiped with all you would need and a pleasant place to prepare your meals, There is a lovely bathroom downstairs and a second upstairs (which we never used to reduce the amount of cleaning...

"The house is located pretty much outside any urban noises which was exactly what we wanted. The setting of the house is very well designed. Plenty of space for sports, games, swimming in the lovely swimming pool. Overall, we had a great time staying there. We'll probably book it again in future. "

Very similar feedback to other reviews - noticed little things like some broken crockery and freezer door but this was no problem with spares and expected when renting a big house in summer. We were 3 families (4 children) - the kids all slept in the bunk bed room and one couple slept in the slightly separate building but this was fine. "We enjoyed our stay at this property which is on the banks of the Loire and ideally situated to visit the rest of the region. There is a boulangerie across the road, and it is a relatively short walk to the centre of the town. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. The property has character and the only negative was some disturbed sleep due to the busy road, though this may be unavoidable given the location. There is nowhere private to sit out, but the bank of the Loire is outside the...

"We had a great stay at La Tour Saint Gelin. The gite is ideally situated and is a great base to go and explore the many attractions in the area. We had a great time playing the monument game in Chinon castle ; we also visited the stables of the Cadre Noir in Saumur, the Bioparc in Doue-la-Fontaine and the public gardens in Richelieu. The gite is situated in a peaceful hamlet, overlooking fields and the area is a great spot for birdwatchers (little owls, hoopoes, Montagu's harrier, great grey...

"The hosts for this amazing property are exceptionally helpful with reservations, communications, and suggestions about area. We also had a tour and history of the property. Our house was very well equipped, beds comfortable , baths beautiful. It was very clean, and charming. You are on a wonder bike/walking path, and near a small village for supplies as well as the lovely town of Chinon. We certainly hope to return."
