Location Nr Bergerac ( 15 miles- 30 minutes drive from airport and Bordeaux airport 1 hr approx. ) You can hire a car from the airport - or pre book on line a hire car from Location E. Leclerc Pineuilh and take a taxi there ( 30 minutes ) which is a lot cheaper. You could take a train from Bergerac and the station is 10 minutes walk from the house in Ste Foy La Grande. We like to take the overnight ferry crossing Portsmouth to St Malo and drive down taking about 7 or 8 hours arriving about 5:00pm. The house is about 100 meters from the river Dordogne.

This beautiful traditional home is situated in a quiet spot in the heart of a small bastide ancient town.
It boasts as holding the largest market in the SW of France selling fresh local produce , les fruits de La mer, cheeses, wine artisan pottery jewellery and clothing. You will fall absolutely in love with the house, the town and the area around. Just relax and become emerged in the French culture of this historical town.
What to do in the town?
Take an historical walk around medieval Ste Foy La Grande using a guide leaflet from the local tourist office, and admire the charm and beauty of these ancient buildings and magnificent church.
Enjoy a glass of wine down by the river, an excellent spot for bird watching and fishing. The beach on the other side is lifeguarded and convenient for swimming, sunbathing and canoeing.
The town also benefits from a theatre and cinema.

The property has the advantage of being close to the square where events such as music and food festivals take place on Thursday evenings in the summer weeks.
