Beautiful villa, exceptional pool, central location for Cannes, Nice, St. Tropez

This charming stone villa in St Paul en Forêt (near Fayence), Cote d'Azur is the perfect location for exploring the beautiful Côte d'Azur, Cannes, Nice, St. Tropez and the heart of Provence.

The villa has south facing terraces and a beautifully large (12m x 6m), mirror pool catching the full Mediterranean sun. Inside the villa is cool, spacious and very comfortable. It is situated on the edge of the charming village of St.Paul en Forêt which is a five minute walk. The village has a bakery, village square bar and two great restaurants. With views of the mountains it is a peaceful woodland setting. It is perfect for you if you are seeking a blissful Provençal retreat while exploring the regions stunning scenery.

On your doorstep are six medieval perched villages (Seillian, Fayence, St Paul en Forêt, Tourettes, Callian and Montauroux.)

Set high on the mountains they are steeped in history and tradition with stunning senic views and many incredible restaurants at their centre. They are all served by many more bakeries, food and gift shops further down the mountains. Outdoor concerts and events are common in the centre of these villages in the summer.

The glamorous and sophisticated Nice, Cannes, Antibes and St Tropez are all easy journeys from St Paul en Forêt.

The villa is beautiful, traditional with a modern twist. It is built entirely from a warm coloured local stone with a very large open plan living/dining room including a vaulted ceiling (of the same local stone). There are two sets of french doors opening from the living/dining area onto the outside terrace.

There are three large ground floor bedrooms running along the south side of the hall, each with a king sized bed surrounded by full canopy netting with air-conditioning throughout the villa.

On the other side of the ground floor hall are two bathrooms and a large utility room. One of the bathrooms is the ensuite for the master bedroom.

The master bedroom has French doors leading into the garden and also has a separate dressing room. Each of the bedrooms has a large built-in wardrobe.

The well equipped kitchen is in a vintage style with modern appliances. The kitchen easily serves both the inside dining room and the outside terrace.

The pool is a particularly large, modern, mirror pool and forms a striking feature being so close to the villa. There is a solar shower by the pool which provides a lovely warm shower after your swim.

You have a pergola to provide shade on the south facing terrace for part of the day.

There is a full sized Boules court in the grounds of the villa and hammocks to wile away the hours relaxing.

The garden attracts lots of wildlife, including unusual birds - Eurasian Jays (with bright blue patches on their wings) and Eurasian Golden Oriole (which are bright yellow), wild Hermann Tortoises (which are native to the area) and the local forests have plenty of Wild Boar (Sanglier in French).

There may be discounts available for smaller parties, early birds, longer stays & late flexible bookings, please enquire.

The Markets

There's a bustling Provencal market in nearby Fayence 3 days a week Tuesday, Thursday and the busiest day, is normally Saturday where you can buy freshly picked vegetables, locally pressed olive oil, cheeses, clothes, gifts and all manner of other local produce.

Fayence also hosts many specialist markets, for example: the Antiques Market 4 times a year; An Art Fair 3rd Sunday in July with over 60 artists and Artisans and an Exhibition of Provence Gourmande on Sunday in mid August. For more information on Fayence contact or visit the local tourist office which is in the centre of the village.

Fabulous property- a wonderful stay
Myself, my husband, adult daughter and boyfriend stayed for a week at the beginning of September 2024, together with our small dog. The gated property is simply fabulous, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need and more, we like to source local food and cook and ate outside by the beautiful pool and inside too in the stunning dining room when the storm came. The property was spacious, cool and clean. The lady in the local boulangerie was very pleasant providing gluten free bakery too. We had a beautiful meal at the L'auberge Fleurie in Fayence and fantastic moules in San Raphael, but did not need to travel too much further as we had driven a long way from England and had visited nearby places in previous years but, simply, because the property was so lovely, we were just happy to be there and enjoy family time together in the peaceful surroundings. Communication with hosts and managers was really helpful throughout and we are so grateful for your attention to detail and your obvious care. Thank you -we would love to visit again

What a wonderful villa
We absolutely loved our holiday at Les Colles. The pool is amazing , lovely temperature and being surrounded by nature was so special. Ann has thought of everything to make it a home away from come. The village is a short walk away and we used the bakery and butchers and the cafe on the square regularly . We have already booked for next year

Wonderfully relaxing week
We had a lovely stay at this villa. Ideally placed to allow for trips to the lakes, beach and Monaco. The villa itself flows wonderfully from indoors to out and has a really good feel about it. We did stay late into the season, following a significant dry spell and a little needed tlc is needed to the pool and surrounding area is the only reason I didn’t give this five stars. Unfortunately the village was closed for half of the holiday which is not a fault of the property but worth considering and bearing in mind if you travel during the last week of the school summer holidays. I would absolutely love to return but would come early in the holidays rather than the end. Ann was wonderful with help and communication.

Lovely villa in Provence
This villa has an excellent pool, perfect for our family of five and bigger than many others. It is in an excellent location - very secluded but near to Fayence which has everything you could need. There is a good bakery (La Grillotine) there which we found useful for breakfast. There are a number of Domaines around where you can buy some lovely local wine. Fréjus is only half an hour away if you want to get to the coast (well worth going on Monday evenings in July and August to see the fireworks from the beach). This is the second time we have stayed here. We came back because it’s in a great location, excellent value and just right for our teenage family of five.

A great base for a 2 week stay
Ann's house is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the Cote d'Azur but away from the hustle of the coast. The house is very clean, spacious and well equipped. We went as a family of four adults but six people would not be cramped. A highlight is the lovely pool and the wilder garden area is a haven for wildlife. The house is set in a quiet village about 45 minutes from the coast. The fascinating town of Fayence is ten minutes away, with its brilliant market, boulangerie and cafes. Communication with Ann was first class and the property is accurately described in the listing. We had a great two weeks

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful villa
We enjoyed a tremendous family holiday in this beautiful and well-equipped villa. The villa was all that we had hoped for and was beautifully decorated with many lovely touches. Although we mainly stayed in the villa enjoying the large and well-heated pool and the garden wildlife (no tortoises sadly but lots of different birds) when we did venture out to see the local area we were struck by the beauty of its villages and its friendly locals. We are so thankful to Ann and the property manager for providing us with such a stress free experience and for answering all our many questions quickly and helpfully. We would definitely like to return in the future

Perfect
This villa was the best we have ever stayed in. It is tasefully decorated, spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly want for a perfect holiday. The garden is totally private and the pool is properly heated for swimming morning , noon and night. It is also big and a good depth with steps along one side. The garden has sun all day and tables and chairs to eat in the sun or shade and loungers to relax. It was lovely to have the air conditioning for a restful night in the comfy beds. There were lots of places to visit close by as well as trips to the coast and a train trip to Monaco along the coast which was fantastic. There are also supermarkets close by as well as a bakers, butchers and Restuarants in the village a short walk away. We really enjoyed our holiday and hope to return again as many others have. Thank you Anne and Eugene for letting us use your amazing villa. Mary & Steve, Bev & Steve

Perfect villa for our week in Provence
This villa is a fantastic place to stay. It is very well equipped and comfortable, and the property manager is very accommodating and helpful. The pool is excellent - very large and has a good depth which is perfect for our active children. We ate outdoors for every meal, and the terrace is great for this being just outside the kitchen which has all you could need. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms nicely furnished. The air conditioning is a blessing as the nights can be very hot in Provence. The location is also lovely. We visited Fayence which has a lovely market and a convenient Super U that is only a few minutes drive away. That said, it was nice to be able to walk from the villa to the bakers in the village to buy croissants in the morning. We also had a day trip to St Tropez and watched the fireworks from the beach in Fréjus (which are free every week in August).

This house has everything you need and more
This is a wonderful place to stay. The house is very comfortable and extremely well equipped, from the beds you can just sink in to to the boxes of toys to the well set up kitchen. The pool was probably one of the best we have encountered, always clean and certainly very inviting in the heatwave! (We were also deeply glad of the efficient air conditioning as the temperature soared in the second week., allowing for continued good sleep). The steps all along the shallow end of the pool made it perfect for our 2 year old granddaughter , allowing her to develop her confidence enough while we we there to ‘swim’ on her own with armbands. The out and indoor eating areas were clean, comfortable and fresh and more than spacious. It’s also in a great location, Fayence is a beautiful village and the markets are well worth a visit. Anne and Eugene were attentive and helpful hosts and their restaurant recommendations (Auberge d’Fleurie and La Glorie de mon Pere in Seillans) spot on - we would add les Deux Rocs also in Seillans- we ate well. Stefan and team for cleaning and maintenance are second to none too. Overall a great holiday in a great property, thank you.

Fantastic Outdoor Living Space
The swimming pool was perfect and larger than we expected. It was really enjoyed by everyone; youngest loved diving into it, eldest loved lazing on an air bed and there was still room for me to swim! The pool was a perfect temperature and we enjoyed swims in the evening with the pool lights on. Bliss. I loved the fact that it was salt water rather than chlorine which dries my skin out. The table tennis table was enjoyed too. We have stayed in other villas which offer table tennis, only to find flimsy tables. This table is a Cornilleau outdoor table so was great to play on and very easy to put up. The Boule court was great too and provided lots of fun. The villa is a home from home. Very comfortable. The Kitchen was very well-equipped and didn't want for anything. The location was peaceful and away from the masses on the coast. We visited the surrounding villages which were all beautiful. Mons was our favourite, the highest village in the immediate area and well worth a trip if only to sip a wine at L'Auberge Provencal which has amazing views. The Village of Fayence is only a short drive and has a well-stocked Super U supermarket. We did also visit the coast which is very accessible and only about 30 minutes drive if you are missing the crowds! This was a perfect holiday in a beautiful part of France. I have visited France many times and this area has to be one of the prettiest and friendliest areas that I have known. If you want peace and quiet away from it all, I would highly recommend it.

So good we keep returning!
The Villa is situated in a quiet area and the grounds are surrounded by trees. There is a lovely view across the grounds and out across the mountains. The pool is salt water, not chlorine, and is lovely to swim in. At one end there are steps down in to it then it slopes towards the other end where it is too deep to stand. The Villa is lovely and has tiled floor throughout. There is airconditioning in the bedrooms and sitting/dinning room but on all our visits we have never needed to use it because the Villa has always remained at a comfortable temperature anyway. Only point to note is if you don't like Geckos then you may not want to sit outside as they are always around on the buildings stonework. They are NOT a problem though (we certainly do not mind them at all) but if you have a phobia of them you may need to consider this point. So to sum up, a lovely Villa with a lovely pool, well furnished and well situated. The owner is always very helpful and we certainly intend to keep returning.
