"We enjoyed our stay at this property which is on the banks of the Loire and ideally situated to visit the rest of the region. There is a boulangerie across the road, and it is a relatively short walk to the centre of the town. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. The property has character and the only negative was some disturbed sleep due to the busy road, though this may be unavoidable given the location. There is nowhere private to sit out, but the bank of the Loire is outside the...

"We had a great stay at La Tour Saint Gelin. The gite is ideally situated and is a great base to go and explore the many attractions in the area. We had a great time playing the monument game in Chinon castle ; we also visited the stables of the Cadre Noir in Saumur, the Bioparc in Doue-la-Fontaine and the public gardens in Richelieu. The gite is situated in a peaceful hamlet, overlooking fields and the area is a great spot for birdwatchers (little owls, hoopoes, Montagu's harrier, great grey...

"Property is lovely and located very conveniently for the centre of Samur but in a quiet location. Only improvement would be house number on the outside gate (the number on the house is difficult to see). Would definitely stay again."

"The hosts for this amazing property are exceptionally helpful with reservations, communications, and suggestions about area. We also had a tour and history of the property. Our house was very well equipped, beds comfortable , baths beautiful. It was very clean, and charming. You are on a wonder bike/walking path, and near a small village for supplies as well as the lovely town of Chinon. We certainly hope to return."
