We had expected an older style property that would be within the wood land and standing on its own. The property is infact on a housing development of new properties, this realisation fazed us somewhat, as was the fact that the developers were still undertaking major road works. "The property is well fitted out and has everything one needs for a trouble free and relaxing holiday. I surrounded by farms and hence is peaceful and very quiet at night. Getting bread for breakfast did involve using my car to cover the 2 miles or so to the village. Jard sur Mar is only about 10 miles away and is a lovely seaside town with a fine harbour and is well worth a visit, as are the other towns and villages in the region. I will definitely consider returning in the future."

This GÎTE in their garden is very quiet and peaceful, only 5 min walk to the coast and about 20 mins into town. For us, the attraction was the convenience of the Vendee cycle ways which are minutes away and are great ways to explore north and south of St Gilles on flat firm surfaces.
