"We had a wonderful week at this beautiful gite. Brigitte and Lionel were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The gite itself and grounds are beautifully maintained - we felt super relaxed when we left having spent the week swimming, lying in hammocks and exploring the nature in the garden. "We booked this property for a couple of nights so that we could visit le Puy du Fou and this worked very well - it's a half hour drive along quiet country roads. It's easy to find and communication with with Marie was excellent throughout. The apartment is separate from the main house and is very modern, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable - everything we needed for self catering. Marie was very helpful with information about the locality, and even did our laundry whilst we were at puy...

"A real experience. The moulin is beautifully furnished and sits in the middle of a field. Hosts helpful and friendly. Perhaps best for a couple or family rather than 2 couples due to layout of the bedrooms. We will always remember our stay in this unique setting. Thankyou"

"Our stay at Bois Mort exceeded all expectations and Maison Maurice was the perfect place for a much-needed lazy holiday, surrounded by farmland and wildflower meadows. "This is an excellent property. The only problem was locating Bois Mort from Gorges. The location appears to be not Garmin GPS friendly. But this was quickly remedied by the owner. This is a delightful spot. We spent six pleasant nights. Many Loire sights easily reachable in day trips. Very relaxing place to return to and host Richard charming, helpful and a very good cook. We would highly recommend this spotless, expertly restored historic property for a Loire region stay."

"this is not an hotel. you have to make your own bed, they do not provide any towel, and there is a note asking you to take out the bedsheets and clean before you leave. "Perfect size for a family of four! Not too big, ideal as a holiday home. The kitchen has all that is needed and sitting room and dining room was particularly handy on the one really wet day that we had. The big selling point for this property, is the outside space, and particularly the pool area! Many an hour was spent chilling by the pool and most lunches/dinners were had facilitated by the pool area kitchen (hob and BBQ were very much utilised) - which is definitely an asset for this...

"Staff good . Bedding clean and comfortable. Air conditioning not working, mouldy shower ceiling, carpet very worn. Whole hotel needs a revamp. Breakfast buffet not great choice. Overpriced. Car parking very easy and hotel was not noisy. Would not use again unless keen to stay in Parthenay."

Perfect to switch off and relax

"Perfect size for a family of four! Not too big, ideal as a holiday home. The kitchen has all that is needed and sitting room and dining room was particularly handy on the one really wet day that we had. The big selling point for this property, is the outside space, and particularly the pool area! Many an hour was spent chilling by the pool and most lunches/dinners were had facilitated by the pool area kitchen (hob and BBQ were very much utilised) - which is definitely an asset for this property. Our dog also loved all the different areas of the garden - which is completely secure, so there were no worries about where she was at any time. The pool itself, was very easy to maintain, and our 14yo enjoyed the responsibility of checking the chemical levels in the pool each evening! The surrounding area is very beautiful and it was great exploring the woods and the cycle/footpaths with the dog every morning (all very clearly identified and marked by the Vendee department), I found a total of 5 6-8km walks without having to go on any roads - many of which were shaded which was a blessing in the warm summer mornings. The hosts were very easy to contact and very responsive, and any issues were addressed and sorted quickly. We would certainly book this property again."
