"We were a party of 5 young at heart seniors who enjoyed every minute. The accommodation was of a high standard and a lot of thought went into the detail to make our stay 5*. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuites immaculate. The weather at the time was hot and we made use of the lovely pool and aircon. The location was perfect, isolated and quiet, yet only 6km from a delightful village Monpazier. I hope we have the pleasure of returning again. Thank you Sonja & Mark"

"This is a beautiful old house with plenty of space for a large family to eat together. The views are wonderful with deer and rabbits walking below the house. It is in a part of France with much to offer in terms of activities like cycling, canoeing, eating and just admiring the beautiful villages. The swimming pool is a short walk from the house with plenty of sun loungers, table tennis, table football and badminton to play. "We were given a lovely welcome by Maria and Santiago, and a nice basket of local food and drink. The grounds of the house are beautiful and spacious with plenty of activities and lots of equipment. The pool was super. The house is very well equipped with all you need. Our week coincided with a serious heatwave and it was impossible to keep the bedrooms cool despite the fans. There is no Wi-Fi at the property but 4G was ok.We were a little more remote than we expected but we had a great relaxing...

"We had a fantastic stay in this lovely, rustic property. Great for families with the pool and spacious grounds. Praysaac is also a very pretty, vibrant little town. There is also so much to do in the surrounding area. Cahors is only a 30 minute drive and there are plenty of villages, towns and chateau nearby. Everything you could wish for. We were sad to leave."

"Fantastic 2 weeks in a lovely house, glorious outside area including super-pool. Great location for lots of trips out with the kids, including canoeing, aquapark, pedalo, zoo, caves, tree climbing and of course the local château’s. "

"Visiting the area my fiancé spent her childhood summers and the house is a 4min drive from the town center with beautiful views across the valley and wooded areas. Nice and peaceful but still local to the town and amenities. Pool and outdoor areas are perfect for lazy days and evenings and the house (old school) is quirky, rustic and lovely with all that you could need. Host was excellent with information required and directions to find the house. Thank you for letting us stay"

"Sadly the pool was is need of substantial repair. The cracked slabs and crumbling cement around the pool was dangerous for bare feet and attracted wasps to nest. Not ideal for young children and babies. There was a constant bad smell in the kitchen due to drainage problems in the area of the sink. The setting is idyllic and very peaceful in amongst the forest but we got bitten alive with all the woodland mosquitoes."

"We travelled 1500 km to a 2 day event at Villereal the property was everything we expected. Most friendly and helpful hosts. We would love to revisit with more leisure time."

"Beautiful gite in a fabulous setting with a very welcoming host. The house and pool were fabulous and we enjoyed the welcome pack of home grown fruit and veg. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Sally was fabulous and always on hand to help with anything you needed. Our daughter loved all the animals and really enjoyed Sally introducing her to the new born chicks that hatched whilst we were there. Had such a lovely week we were very sorry to leave."

"We stayed for a week and hired both gites for our family. It was utterly perfect in every way - we wanted for nothing. We most enjoyed the privacy of the main pool which overlooks luscious countryside bustling with life and the stunning western sunsets in the cool sky. Sonia and Mark are consumate well experienced hosts who always try to accommodate any requests where possible. "Montcuq is such a pretty place and this is a lovely house to stay in. The house is just a few minutes walk to a fantastic boulangerie and you can wander to restaurants and cafes and watch the world go by, all without having to drive. The house is spacious and nicely decorated, with everything you can think of for a great stay. It has a massive garden and outbuildings, so perfedt for a family. We will return, but with the whole family, as there's so many areas to relax in. A real find."

"Si la maison se trouve dans un cadre idyllique avec un court de tennis, en revanche, un ensemble de manquements et de dysfonctionnements nous ont gâché le séjour... Outre le manque de propreté et des toiles d'araignée, il manquait des verres (Obligé d'en acheter), il y avait qu'un seul parasol (Autour de la table) et aucun autour de la piscine (Difficile d'en profiter..). De la même manière, pas de panier à linge, de produits désinfectants, de serpillères et au niveau de la cuisine, il n'y avait...

"Belle maison très bien équipée et confortable malgré une déco un peu vieillotte. Cadre magnifique, endroit idéal pour se détendre et profiter de la nature environnante. La piscine très propre permet de se rafraichir en admirant le paysage tout autour. Idéal pour se ressourcer. Petits commerces de qualité à quelques kilomètres et de nombreuses ballades possibles. Excellent accueil par des propriétaires très sympathiques. "

"La région est superbe et nous avons fait beaucoup de marche et de visites. Nous avons apprécié le gîte et l'accueil du propriétaire. Les T° ne nous ont pas permis de profiter de la piscine mais il y a tant à faire que ce n'est pas grave! Le gîte contient tous les équipements nécéssaires et est fidèle à la description. "

"Everyone was extremely welcoming and attentive. The Chateau looks amazing on arrival and even more so in the evening. It has a fabulous pool area and the views over the surround countryside are stunning. Our room was lovely which also had amazing views. There is parking on site and we had breakfast booked which was good. The village is a stones throw and definitely worth going to visit. "

Pretty restored farmhouse in Saint Marcory

"After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. We all forgot towels and Lucie was at the door before I had even signed off. "

Authentic holiday home with private pool

Dated, inaccurate description, poor communication

"The property is dated and in need of some TLC, there are things within the property that do not work such as the TV, the channel box was broken when we arrived, in spite of reporting the fault it was never fixed, there are multiple extension cords around the property, not sure if it meets basic health and safety standards. Most frustrating part is the situation with linen, although linen is provided, however, beds are not made on arrival and the condition of the linen can be best described as shabby and old, we asked care taker can we at least have matching bed linen, however, we were told the previous family had 10 guests and they used all the linen. You can enjoy the pool after you have cleaned it of the bugs. Shower cubicle needs attention as the door is cracked and we were informed that the previous guests broke it!! Hmmm! Looked broken for a while to us. Now! Good bits - if you want piece and quite this is a perfect location with small villages around the corner, wildlife and insects are in abundance, there is resident mantis in the kitchen window, wild cat that lives within one of the old barn at the back and if you are quiet you might see a dear roaming around within the grounds. I suppose! The big question- will we book again the property and with Vrbo? Answer is an emphatic NO. Vrbo did not even acknowledge the concerns we raised as soon as we arrived, in fact we are still waiting for a response! Not impressed and over priced."
