This is a beautiful, old French farmhouse set on a hillside with amazing views right across to the Pyrenees. It has 4 huge bedrooms which are tastefully furnished, with a huge choice of beds all of which are very comfortable! The bathroom upstairs in light airy and spacious. Downstairs there is also plenty of space to spread out even on a rainy evening, with a large dining/family room and very well equipped kitchen. It was great to arrive at a house that had some of the bare cooking essentials provided rather than empty cupboards, and the small welcome pack was appreciated too. The downstairs bathroom is small but an added bonus. Where this property excels is in the outside space. There are plenty of places to sit in a chair and enjoy the stunning views. The pool is enormous and amazingly clean, and the patio surrounding it is very sheltered. There were 3 outside eating areas but we particularly enjoyed eating at the stone table by the bbq, making the most of the views each day! The pool was maintained very well and there were lots of inflatables available, as well as boule, darts, board games & books. We picked figs in the morning for breakfast, drank fabulous (and cheap) Gaillac Wine and visited local markets to buy sausage, bread, fruit etc. The nearby supermarkets in Grauhlet were excellent and the local people incredibly friendly. We enjoyed trips to Carcassonne & Cordes sur Ciel, both amazing towns, and kayaked on the river Tarn & the Agout. We also thoroughly enjoyed the recommended restaurants although we did not have time to sample enough of them! I would definitely recommend this villa for familes as it has loads of space for everyone. The owners are very friendly and helpful, as were all the people we met during our stay. Altogether an amazing holiday!
