"Hard to find the first time, but ideally located overall. Towns and champagne tour route nearby. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. We did not self-cater but with a boulangerie a short walk it would have been easy. We were only in for a short stay (attending a wedding) but would definitely stay again if we were to revisit the region."

"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"Four nights here - and loved it. It is beautifully quiet, the room was lovely and the pool beautiful with a great view. Christine (the owner) could not have been more helpful, she was genuinely concerned about making sure everything was OK and you were having a good time - which I was! "Superb location for dog walks, good restsurants in the area, some within a good walking distance. We made good use of the enclosed pool and the ping pong table. Good enclosed garden for the fog. Fully equipped house.Would definately stsy again if we were in this area"
