"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"De passage à Saintes, nous avons passé une nuit sur place. Très calme pour bien dormir. Très bon accueil à l’arrivée. Le petit déjeuner dans le jardin le matin c’est au top, notre hôte a été aux petits soins, c’était très agréable. Nous n’hésiterons pas à reprendre une nuit à l’occasion."

"We had a fabulous one night stay as a family at the end of August. The owner was very welcoming and patient with my rusty French! Accommodation was very spacious and clean and it was lovely to sit outside in the evening sun listening to the animals. My daughter particularly liked the cute guinea pigs! We ate in the restaurant for dinner which was delicious and breakfast was included. A great place to stay for visiting the Marais Poitevin! "

"The owner and his wife were very kind and attentive. We arrived late and the husband (and their very friendly dog) was there to meet us. He helped carry our bags, showed us around our rooms (we had 2 of them) and then brought us a tray of wine and snacks. He then asked what time we wanted breakfast the next morning. "Lovely guesthouse, nice and caring owner. We even got a very good homemade dinner (at a reasonably cost) during this pandemic period when all restaurants are closed. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of varieties at the table. "
