"We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. "We stayed here for one night after arriving earlier in Cherbourg. The property was easily found using a sat nav. The owner, Roger, was very friendly and welcoming. "Single beds in large room were very firm and one creaked with every movement, We had no idea that building was either a gite or a B & B. When the latterthe kitchen/living area is shared with others. We left all our electronic and other things in this area while out the evening we arrived and were surprised to be joined by another guest in the morning! The worst part is we could get hold of owner till we contacted hotel.com with the check in guidance. "This is a very well run Gite with lots to do in the grounds and buildings. As it is a conversion of an old farmhouse it is a bit dark and some of the appliances are a bit dated - but it all works. There are loads of walks around the park and the old trails. As you are in the country there are the usual flies and bugs to contend with but those who love nature will feel right at home. We took our dog and it did not get on too well with the owners young Boxer dog (he was just a bit nosy vs angry)...
