We had an equipment failure with cross country skis, but moved on to snowshoes for a lovely walk. Did one trail in boots alone, but wished we had gone back out with the snowshoes. Interesting ridge walk. We'd definitely go back at other seasons as well, but it was just what we wanted for February!snowshoes. "

"In an age of "Live Laugh Love" vacation rentals -- every property a generic flip, done up in neutral tones and mass-manufactured message art -- it was so refreshing to enter the Cabin Skowhegan, where everything seemed like a real live person had put it there. The photos of local sites, sometimes captioned. The worn-in but sturdy and inviting furniture, arranged for comfort. The quirky mug collection, clearly someone's pride and joy, hanging around the dining area. Supplies and provisions exactly where you need them. This cabin is no frills but so lovingly appointed. I would definitely come back."
