Comfortable well designed house in a good position
The house is very comfortable. It's modern but yet has a cosy cottage feel to it. It's also very well designed with good living space and essential holiday home rooms such as separated porch for muddy boots and wet coats, and a separate utility room for much the same or hiding away drying washing.
It's well situated on the Rye side of Camber. We'd never been to Camber before. The other end of town is quite run down and there is a massive eye sore that is Pontins. That said; it didn't bother us one bit as at our end of town you could walk only a couple of minutes to the Gallivant hotel and restaurant. We had a meal in there and it was delicious. Great local sparkling wine list and the food was fantastic. Booking is essential - I imagine it's near impossible to get in during the summer...
Also very close is the beach - it's a great beach as well.
Rye is great and a 6-7 minute drive. We actually walked to and from as well - day time and night. It's just under an hour walk and there is a good path and cycle way to get there - bikes would be good in the summer. Rye is a great place and we'll definitely go back.
One major set back was the wifi at the property. It was advertised with Netflix...which is true. But the wifi connection was so slow that we couldn't even stream the credits of a film! As we stayed in winter and we love film, relaxing to a good movie was something that we were looking forward to. If you want to use devices like iPads or something, forget it! The wifi is dial up speed!
Overall it was a great property and well looked after - local goodies were left out for us by the owners which was a nice touch.
