Sandy Shoes is beautifully constructed waterfront home located on the north side of Russell’s Island. Situated off of the main road and right on the water, it’s vibrant colors will surely catch your eye. Sandy Shoes is equipped with everything you will need in your vacation rental, but questions are always acceptable. A free golf is given to use to explore the island while staying here. The Sand Bar is one of the locals favorite restaurants and is only half a mile from Sandy Shoes. The house comes with kayaks and paddle boards so you can Kayak to nearby beaches or sit out on the deck, while having a cocktail, or sitting on the lounges by the water reading a great book. So if it’s relaxing at the beach or going on one of the best boat/land charters, Seagillian Life, then Sandy Shoes is the perfect place for you. Paradise under the stars
We stayed here over Christmas with 2 teenage daughters and had a great and relaxing 6 day stay. I have never had a host as attentive and helpful as Christy. They made sure that we were met at the airport and shuttled all the way to the island, and gave us a quick tour of the island. The cottage was perfect and so relaxing. I have never seen so many stars at night as we did on this island. We even slept out under the stars on Christmas night. It was surreal. I have stayed at many rentals, but Sandy Shoes stands out and I would recommend it to anyone. (Also the starfish and snorkeling right off the shore was great..just wear water shoes).

A Piece of Paradise
Everything about our trip was amazing! Christy and Shane were so helpful and always responded within minutes to any questions we had. The property was perfect, and very well appointed. The beach and access to the water was even better than advertised. The location of the property felt so private but was also just a quick golf cart ride away from the restaurants and stores. We will absolutely be coming back to the island again and would love to stay at one of Christy and Shane's amazing properties!

I wish I could give our host 6 stars. Lovely people and a gorgeous property on an amazing island... Find your way there, and then allow yourself to get lost.

Loved everything about it!

The house was very clean and cute, and the property is located in a very quiet area along with an amazing view. The owners were very nice and helpful with everything. We had no problems with communication or with the house at all. This is the perfect house for a relaxing stay in spanish wells.

Incredible views from and beautifully appointed home!
We had the chance to spend a long weekend with our teenage daughters, and this home was perfect! The host is magnificent and super accommodating. The house itself was in immaculate condition, had all the things we could’ve needed, and was located in a beautiful area. We would love to come back as soon as possible. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

There are not enough stars to rate Christy and her hospitality! Beach house was as pictured. Christy went above and beyond any other host. We felt home all the way from Ohio! You will def not regret staying here!

Wow! Such a pleasant fun place to stay! Property was amazing and just as advertised. Christy was fantastic to work with and took great care of us. Great way to get away!
This is a great new property! I can't say much more than the other reviews that you will read here. We loved the location, easy access to the beach, the privacy and the golf cart! Such a great add on to the rental. Christy is a great hostess and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. Biggest problem is going to be keeping this a secret!

The best vacation home and hosts you could ask for!
Christy and Shane were so great, anything we asked for if they couldn’t provide it, they found someone who could. They wene far and away the best hosts we have encountered, I cannot day enough great things about them. Beautiful island with the friendliest people! The house is just as advertised, so charming, clean and modern! We could not have found a more perfect location for us. There are steps leading right into the ocean from your own private beach. We cannot wait to visit again.

Christy , Was the perfect host!. From arranging our cab and meeting us at the docks. She also showed us around the island which is beautiful. The only thing we thought there was a beach that you could walk on from the house. But with the golf cart you could be at a beach in 5min or less.

Sandy Shoes is Shangri La!
Sandy Shoes wraps you in it’s charm the minute you walk inside. The view is spectacular, and everything you need is at your fingertips. If not, Christy, like a “Genie”, will have it on your doorstep. Shane and his brother , Shannon make a boat excursion on Seagillian interesting and fun, and wizzing around on your own golf cart is awesome. Don’t hesitate Go!

Spanish Wells Heaven
The rental property was wonderful. The water was beautiful. We rented from Christy a d Shane and also did an excursion thru them which was the highlight of the trip. Loved they had transportation for us already. And they made travel arrangements to get to the island. The house had everything we needed and even had kayaks and paddleboards which were fun as well. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. We got fresh fish and cooked ourselves one night but also ate at many of the restaurants. Definately would recommend anyone to book this stay. 5+ stars for sure!

Great place, amazing hosts, we will be back
The place was clean and included all of the amenities needed. The hosts were wonderful, picking us up at the ferry and leading us to the rental. The unit came with a golf cart which was great, and one less thing for us to deal with. Owners had a pack-and-play for us. They had kayaks, paddle boards, and beach furniture. While its not in the heart of Spanish Wells, its a small area and really easy to get around with the golf cart. We grilled lobster on the beach with the neighbors, and sat around a bonfire after the sun went down. In short, it was everything you hope a rental will be when you book. 5 out of 5

Beautiful home!!
This is a beautiful home with wonderful view of the water. We new the minute we arrived that we were going to love this home. Shane and Christy are such lovely people and really have made a spectacular home. From the inside to the outside it has everything you need. They have put a lot of care into the structure as well as the decorating and outside beach they made. Saw string rays and turtles from the steps. They are wonderful hosts and even brought us a delicious pie that Christy made. Spanish Wells never disappoints this is our 6th visit. Thank you to Shane and Christy for letting us be their guest!

We found our Paradise!
AMAZING! Finding it hard to find all the right words to fully describe our stay at Sandy Shoes. It was our first vacation in 5 years and it did not disappoint! We wanted a place to relax, rewind and reset and that’s exactly what we got! Christy and Shane have gone above and beyond to make Sandy Shoes a true sanctuary! From help with transportation to and from the airport to a tour around the island to point out restaurants, grocery, gas station etc...we were definitely made to feel welcome! The locals were all so kind and friendly...the scenery was surreal...the peace, quiet and laid back atmosphere was just what we were seeking. Thank you, Christy & Shane for making our vacation one to remember! We WILL be back!

We can’t say enough amazing things about this place or Christie and Shane! The house is the most adorable thing ever and I wanted to take it home with me! The location is great with the little beach! Nothing is longer than a 10 minute buggy ride away. They were beyond helpful every step of the way even after our arrival! We had a buggy that didn’t want to start and they met us at a restaurant within minutes to switch it out. Our weather wasn’t the greatest, but Shane knew exactly when we would have the best chance at enjoying our excursion and it did not disappoint! Make sure to book something with him!! Overall, we would recommend this property and anything else Christie and Shane are a part of! Such a lovely couple and their passion for Spanish Wells shows!

We loved Sandy Shoes!
We have used VEBO for all of our vacations and Sandy Shoes did not disappoint! From the time we booked to the time we checked out Christy and Shane went above and beyond! Christy was on top of everything and arranged transportation from airport to Spanish Wells. Christy and Shane were there when we arrived and showed us around the island. When we arrived at the house it was exactly what we envisioned a true private gem! The house was clean and had everything we needed! We were also able to charter Seagillian Life (Shane and Shenandoah’s charter company) for a day and had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this experience. It allows you to experience the island life in a different way! We are planning another trip back to Sandy Shoes this summer! Thanks Christy and Shane for making our get away so fun!!

Great hosts but the house isn't that private unfortunately :(
We really wanted to love this place and give 5 stars but three things we wish we knew before we booked: 1) you are oceanfront, but there's no sand so be prepared to have water shoes 2) the water sports equipment and "beach" area is shared with other houses on the property, it's not yours 3) there are other houses being built on the property and it's effectively an active construction site...which means workers were milling around outside our house so there was 0 privacy for a few hours which was especially disappointing because my wife came out of the shower and saw someone through the window thinking this place was private. Other than that, the house is lovely, the hosts were very communicative (and apologetic about the construction work), but the three things above would make me book a different place had I known :(

ABSOLUTELY BREATH-TAKING VIEWS AND THE BEST HOSTESSES YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR!!!
This was our first trip to the Spanish Wells and we certainly lucked up to find this rental. Christy and Shane were absolutely, hands-down, by far the BEST hostesses we could have ever asked for! We traveled with two small children and by the time we left one wanted to stay with them! They arranged all the transit from the airport to the island and back to the airport. They were super helpful when we ran into any problems. Had suggestions for where to eat. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and ridiculously awesome views! They’ve created their own little secluded beach with steps down to the water and kayaks that you can use right outside the house. We saw fish and starfish right outside our own house. There’s literally not enough room to describe how awesome they were and the house was. They made our stay so much better and it was so nice knowing they were literally right there when we needed them.

Fantastic property and great owners!
First of all, Christy was in touch with us before we even arrived to make sure we were all set when we arrived. Then Christy and Shane met us at ferry dock with a golf cart to use during our stay and pointed out areas of interest on the way to property. The cottage is located on a beautiful, well maintained property with 2 other units, but this one is on the water. This well put together unit has a great view and there's no traffic buzzing by all day, so it's nice and quiet.The beach is right outside your door and is shared with the other units, but there are plenty of water toys, chairs, two day beds, and shade for everyone. There are two sets of stairs that lead into the water and there are turtles and fish right off the wall. Bring water shoes due to the urchins and the rocks, however. See sunrise and sunset right from your own beach!!! And if you are done with the gorgeous sunshine, or just need some A/C, the unit has good internet, Roku TV, a real washer and dryer, and some kitchen essentials (spices,foil, soap, oils, and dish-wares). And if you are coffee addicts like us, there's your standard coffee machine and a Keurig (you can buy individual pods at the grocery if you didn't bring your own). All in all a great stay in a quiet part of Spanish Wells.
