With three king-size beds—one in each of its three bedrooms—White Mountain Escape is perfect for a getaway with another couple or two. Of course, it can accommodate a family just as comfortably. Kids and adults alike will appreciate the wraparound deck, the free WiFi, the cable TV, and the proximity to numerous area attractions.
The deck will be one of the first things you notice about White Mountain Escape. Its hot tub looks out onto lush Ponderosa pines. After a day of hiking or mountain biking, you’ll no doubt make a beeline for the tub’s massaging waters. A pampering soak will soon have your weary muscles feeling as good as new and ready to take on the next day’s adventures.
You can cook and dine on the deck as well. Barbecue burgers or fresh-caught fish on the gas grill, then enjoy at the elegant outdoor dining table, which seats 6. The fresh mountain breeze transforms even the simplest fare into a feast.
In winter, you’ll probably prefer to eat indoors. White Mountain Escape’s dining area seats 8 people: 6 at the handsomely made table and 2 more at the adjacent breakfast bar. On the other side of the bar is the kitchen, equipped with a full complement of appliances, cookware, and tableware. All you have to supply is the food and a hearty appetite.
There’s more than enough space in the living room for everyone to hang out together. From the leather sofa and the recliners, you can gaze through the picture windows at the majestic mountains or watch a movie on the flat-screen TV. The kids can sprawl out on the carpet with their games and toys. In winter the wood-burning fireplace is sure to be a favorite gathering spot, while in the summer the ceiling fan and the central air-conditioning will cool you off when you return from the links or the hiking trail.
Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own TV and generous storage in addition to a sumptuous king-size bed, and each is decorated in the same Spanish Colonial elegance as the rest of White Mountain Escape. The master suite includes a private bathroom with a combination shower/tub and twin sinks. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms share the 2nd bathroom, which also has a shower/tub combo. Expecting extra guests? The living room couch opens into a bed for 2.
As you drive up the driveway, there is parking for 3 autos. Street side there is additional space to park your RV, motorcycle trailer or horse trailer.
When you arrive at White Mountain Escape you’ll find all the beds beautifully made up, plenty of clean towels in the bathrooms, and extra bedding ready and waiting, so you can leave your linens at home. In fact, because the house has its own washer and dryer, you can pack especially light.
The White Mountain neighborhood in which the house is located is quiet yet wonderfully convenient. You can drive to the Links at Sierra Blanca in 5 minutes and Alto Lake and Recreation Area—home to a trout-stocked lake and trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding—in less than 10 minutes. Just beyond the lake is Ruidoso Winter Park, where you can snow tube in winter and soar on a zip line year-round. In 15 minutes you can drive to Grindstone Lake and Trail System, and Ski Apache is only a half-hour away. If you’re looking for less-strenuous activities, you can wander among the art galleries and artisan shops of Sudderth Drive, visit the Hubbard Museum of the American West, and try your luck at Billy the Kid and Inn of the Mountain Gods casinos—they’re all less than 20 minutes away.
If you’re visiting in winter, snowy mountains are one reason you’re here! Regardless of when you visit and what activities are on your agenda, you’ll find White Mountain Escape your ideal home away from home. See for yourself; book your stay today! Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads.
