First of all, the location of this cabin is great. We saw an abundance of wildlife.....deer, elk and a bear. Hummingbirds were there all day.
The negative is that this cabin is a trip or fall hazard for the elderly or children. There is a raised lip going into every single room. I myself caught the toe of my shoe several times though I was able to catch myself before I fell.
Probably the most insulting thing was the envelope asking for a tip for the housekeepers. We paid 100.00 for a cleaning fee, which is higher than many cabins in that area. I know, because I checked. We were also told if we didn't clean up before leaving, (which is normal for any VRBO) we would be charged an additional fee. I pay the owners for the cleaning fee, not the housekeepers. They are paid by the owners. I feel if they think they need a tip, they should be the ones who tip their employees. There are also many doors there that do not close properly or come open after you close them.
I will say that the people were very prompt and courteous in answering my message after we couldn't get the front door to lock from the inside.
Also, it's a good thing they had a lighter by the fireplace, or we wouldn't have been able to get the gas stove to work. The stove won't light by itself. This is also the first of numerous VRBOs that I have stayed in that had plastic over their mattresses, which makes for a lot of crinkling any time you move.
For almost $300.00 a night, after all the service fees, cleaning fees, taxes, etc., we expected more.
Again, we enjoyed our stay, but feel like this cabin needs some upgrades.
