"My wife and I found the staff to be extremely down to earth people. The small village of Gimmewald does not have a lot of amenities but we loved how authentic and unspoiled it is. There are many easily accessible hiking trails with outstanding views. The food at the hotel is excellent. I had concerns about having a room with a shared bathroom but that was no problem at all. I have traveled to all 50 states in the US and dozens of countries and this hotel was my favorite place that I have ever stayed at."
