The Space:
Lough View Cabin by Tiny Away sits in the rural locality of Rosebrook, just an hour drive from Portland. Nearby Killarney Beach, Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, Flagstaff Hill Lookout, and local food options at Port Fairy are just a few of the local attractions in the area. The ideal tiny house set on a 30-acre farm with stunning views of Belfast Lough and the dunes bordering the Great Southern Ocean.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that there may be agricultural noise as we are a working farm that tends to farm animals. For a well-rested stay, we recommend that guests bring earplugs with them.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, except for the sheds, which require the host's permission in advance. Also, feel free to bring your own kayak; great for exploring Port Fairy
Lough is easily accessed via grass laneway, unless animals are being moved. If access is unavailable for any period, a sign will be posted on the gate.

Public transport is not available in our area, however, you can travel by car or bicycle to nearby towns. By bicycle, the nearest train station is Warrnambool (20 km). Taxis are available in Warrnambool and Port Fairy.
If you're looking to travel via public transport from Melbourne:
- Train to Ballarat: Take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne directly to Ballarat.
Bus to Rosebrook: Check for local bus services from Ballarat to Rosebrook, as options may vary.
Tip: It’s best to check the V/Line website or app for current schedules and any service updates before your journey!
To travel from Ballarat to Rosebrook, VIC, you can follow these steps:
- Taxi or Rideshare: If bus options are limited, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service like Uber for a direct route to Rosebrook.
- Bus: Check for local bus services, as there may be limited direct routes. You can look for a bus operated by a local transport provider or V/Line services that might connect you.

- No outdoor fire pit until further notice due to fire ban season
- Full mobile reception except 2degrees and Spark which have no signal on the property
- Firewood cost is $20 per wheelbarrow load (currently unavailable due to fire ban season)
- Pets are allowed by prior notice
- Breakfast is available at an extra cost
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed inside/outside the tiny house
- Bring drinking water (or purchase directly from host)
- Late check-ins must be arranged in advance (after 10 PM)
- Farm animal experience is available by prior arrangement
- We have cattle, horses, donkeys, and a variety of feathered and furry animals
- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas, and clean after your pet’s droppings
- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out in courtesy of other guests
- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Farm guidelines
- Guests have restricted access to sheds or any working areas
- Please keep all gates closed before entering and leaving the paddocks
- OFF-LEASH PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED; if not followed, a surcharge is applied
- Keep a safe distance from pets and farm animals as they are easily agitated
- Given the farm setting, children are welcome under CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION
- Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without the land host's permission
- We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health
Important note:
- Our water supply is rainwater, so please limit showers, particularly in the dry season
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that charcoal BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
