Reasonable hotel for the price.
Unfortunately no internet access at the 3rd floor room. Friendly staff with walking distance to the termini station.

The wifi didn't work. One of the clerks was rude. And the airport transfer was simply them calling a taxi that cost too much.

Two and half stelle
It was mostly what we expected. A bit noisy rooms, traffic and stairway sounds was sometimes quite bad. But we slept well and spend most of the time out of the hotel room. Don't think this hotel if you want to spend time in the hotel room. The room and the bath room were clean but worn out needing some renovation. The reservation and payments were OK. As expected, poor Italian breakfasts, as standard there. Location was good, near by Termini (600 m) and just 150 meters to the nearest metro station. Good restaurants with reasonable pricing near by the Hotel. Rome is Rome, it was a nice holiday with my wife.

Awful hotel!
We only had to stay here one night, thankfully. I had to book this hotel online at the last minute, and there's a reason they still had rooms available. The walls are paper-thin. The staff told us we were getting their "best" room, but we soon learned this was sarcasm. The electrical sockets were falling out of the walls. The bedside light flickered on and off. There were no towels for a shower (not that I'd step foot in that dirty thing). There was a loud group of teenagers who ran screaming through the halls for hours. Any time anyone walked by our door or opened their door, ours would rattle as if someone were trying to get in. The bed squeaked and was very uncomfortable. The pillows were awful, clearly very old. There was a sign on the door with the minimum and maximum amounts to be charged for this room; the max was 75 euros, and I had been charged more than 100. When I asked, the staff (whom I had spoken to in English the night before) insisted they did not understand what I was saying. If you need a hotel near the train station (though this is at least a 15-minute walk), choose somewhere else.

dissappointing stay
Air conditioner wasn't working and it was too hot to sleep comfortably. The shower leaked on floor and bathroom was dirty. One of the beds had broken springs so you sunk into bed and hard to sleep. It was close to subway and train station which was good. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Great Price -- Great Location
First time to Rome with my daughter. We were looking for a bargain in a city where it's hard to find bargains and the Tre Stelle delivered. The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was great and served with a smile. The location (near Termini) was perfect since we used the metro to go everywhere. Having a grocery store and bank (with ATM) directly across the street was a bonus. Rooms were very clean -- no complaints. We would go back to Tre Stelle.

Wouldn't stay here again
This hotel wasn't so terrible that I had to change mid trip, but I wouldn't stay here again. There was mold in the bathroom, the paint was peeling off the walls, and it smelled musty. It's true that it's close to the metro and buses, but I would rather have had to travel a little farther and be in a more comfortable place.

three stars?
its close to Roma Termini! since we were using a railpass for day trips to pisa, florence, naples& pompei. It was the cheapest Hotel we could find in rome, the breakfast was juice, coffe and a croissant, like most italian hotels and the rooms were not pretty but they were clean, and the beds were big. The staff was also really funny and nice with us so id say tre stelle!

Tre Strelle is like a hostel
Pro: Cost, close to subway, great restaurants, safe area, clean sheets, good free european breakfast, comfortable bed, never got anything stolen from room. CONS: run down interior and exterior, tv broken, smells like mildew and cigarettes, poor sound insulation, no in room safe, shower unuseable due to boiling hot water only came out of it (never fixed but can be mitigated by running the shower till the hot water runs out) So basically the mixed reviews are all correct. If you want a cheap hotel and can stay at a youth hostel level hotel, this hotel is fine. If you are expecting a 2 or 3 star hotel, you will be disappointed.

Our room was a very tired, almost shabby, front room facing the street. The walls were dirty, damp was rising in two places, paint was peeling in places, and in places a haphazard, amateurish, attempt had been made to paint over some parts of the walls with a mismatching acqua-green paint. The interior furnishings consisted of a green-painted wooden chair, and a misaligned wall mirror. The shower worked, but the fittings were defective, and the shower head had been badly patched with adhesive tape, and should have been replaced. The room has no security safe whatsoever. The building has virtually no security, because the office is off to one side of the entrance, and those in the office have no way of distinguishing guests or visitors from the people who go to other parts of the building not controlled by the hotel. Despite its name, this is not a 3-star hotel; I would describe it as inferior, and would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

The Tre Stelle is not 5-star luxury, it is quite basic, but the location is excellent. Very close to the Termini station, also just 1 block from a metro station. Supermarket, bank etc. across the street. The breakfast is quite small, just a coffee and a croissant, but there are several snack bars very close by. For the price, it was a bargain!

Better than we expected
This hotel was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. After reading several reviews, we were concerned about what we'd find, but we were pleasantly surprised. The elevator is tiny, but we got two people, two suitcases and two carry-ons in at once. The location is excellent. The room was clean. You could spend more and have more luxury, but this was completely fine and left us more money to have fun in Rome.

The most horrid hotel I ever encountered
STAY AWAY!!!!When I arrived in Rome and checked in at the hotel, it looked NOTHING like the photos on the website. The hotel is in a development with another hotel and it was CLEAR that the photos online were of the much nicer hotel NOT where I was staying. We were put in a room, that had holes in the walls, blood on the coverlets, missing light bulbs, a broken shower door, and a bathroom that was covered in black mold and there wasn't even a phone in the room.[...] when we asked the front desk she said there was no phone for public use, another room mysteriously opened up which was only slightly better than the first. Upon waking the next morning I tried to take a shower and there was NO hot water, not even warm water. After asking the front desk they stated that they were trying to fix the problem and it would be fixed that afternoon. We did not have hot water for the NEXT THREE DAYS!!!! and then one morning we awoke to NO water at all and they didn't fix the problem until the evening!!!We then headed to breakfast, which although I paid for breakfast in our package price, the hotel REFUSED to give us the breakfast we paid for and stated they NEVER include breakfast in their prices. Not only did they not include breakfast, they were charging 5 Euro per person to eat at the hotel. You would be better off sleeping in the streets…I wish I could have given the hotel NEGATIVE STARS.I have stayed at many local hotels in Europe and while our standards may be diffrent from theirs this hotel was just plain unsanitary and the hotel staff were generally rude and incredibly unhelpful.STAY AWAY!!!
