1) The owner uses a college student (staff) for check in and issue management. Identified and reported issues (filthy apartment, AC leaks, kitchen floor water leak) were not fully addressed for 24 hours. A lady came check in night to gather the trash and clean the kitchen counter/sink but never returned the next day as promised to clean. Next day’s efforts to contact the student and owner to resolve issues were unsuccessful. The student was in class and did not provide resolution information. The owner’s phone listed in VRBO site was a wrong #. Owner did not reply to VRBO messages for more than 8 hrs, nor answer his phone from new # provided. He also did not call us.
2) The VBRO listing exaggerates the Luxury Apt description. A newer couch, bed, and stovetop are the only modern items. All other furniture and kitchen appliances are old. Missing/broken hardware in the bathroom; old microwave, old leaking refrigerator all point to “putting lipstick on a pig”. WIFI connection listed as 500 mb DSL strong connection but was at best 30 mb upload / 2.43 download speeds. It is NOT quiet. Apt next to the front large metal door which slams shut on every use. Not a peaceful place to sleep.
3) We tried vigorously to work with the owner and pay for the 1 night we stayed. The Owner, did not take responsibility for poor mgmt, nor staff failure to resolve the cleanliness and AC issues. The owner refuses to acknowledge the inaccuracies of his listing or negotiate or take responsibility
