The hotel is fine in terms of cleanliness, location. Some staff were excellent like Lorenzo. Others had limited English and could not help us solve some logistics issues. Breakfast is adequate not great. The room was a good size. If not for the awful internet connections we would gladly stay here again. For the price it’s a fair deal.

Overall star rating One Visiting with family, cramped into one small room. Extremely noisy location all night along - if windows are open Air condition was turned off reason being it’s after mid-October, when outside temperature is still 22-23C. No alternative provided ie fan. Advised to open window! Which meant we were not able to sleep, because of noise. Rooms are small Avoid this hotel like plague

The staff at Hotel Borromeo are so helpful, especially Gigi. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. The hotel was very clean and within walking distance of the train station. It was a great base for sightseeing in Rome.

Gigi at the front desk was so helpful and always willing to help with making our experience the best. My daughter and I felt very grateful to him each time he was at the desk. He is a gem of an employee.

We added Rome last minute and booked this hotel with minimal research. The one negative review I read was that they try to move overflow guests to a different hotel that’s not as nice. Because we weren’t there in the high season, I figured that was a non-issue. Sadly, it was an issue. When we arrived, they told us we would have to stay in a different room each night of our two night stay because they didn’t actually have what we booked available. They offered to move is to their sister hotel instead. The other hotel is in a different Part of town, near the Spanish steps instead of the colosseum. We hesitated, asked for the name of the other hotel and hopped on WiFi to start reading reviews (which weren’t as good as the Borromeo). We discussed walking away altogether but the manager was able to ‘find’ us a room at the Borromeo for both nights without having to switch rooms. We ended up in a room with a large balcony that was very clean and sufficient. The bed was one of the LEAST comfortable beds I’ve experienced in a hotel. Think slightly padded sheet of plywood with uncomfortable, thin pillows. That aside, we were pleased with the front desk. The gentleman there, Gigi, gave us a map and an excellent plan of attack to see Rome’s highlights in our two days. We found the included breakfast to be sufficient (great pastries, fresh whole fruit, scrambled eggs, bread for toast, yogurt, espresso machine, etc). I would probably stay here again but wouldn’t say it was awesome.

We really could use a few nights to relax from the travels of the previous days and this was perfect. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and big and the AC was a relief for us since we are not used to the humid air with all that walking. The location was also perfect, close yet far enough from Train Station to get to and from Rome easily.

Staff very helpful and pleasant hotel in great location however the shower was only a shower head at waist level and we had to hold it up when showering- also the bathroom door slid on rollers and was not really wide enough to cover the doorway and was so loud that it woke everyone up if you tried to use the bathroom at night- the breakfast was quite nice up on the rooftop terrace

Room was a quadruple but look like they squeezed in 2 twin beds. The didn’t match up with the bed. The nightstands were turned sideways to make room for the beds and on walking space between the queen bed and the twin. The chair in the room also needs to be reupholstered. The fabric was totally frayed and the fridge in the room really on kept the the water moderately cool but not cold.

Rome family vacation!
Let begin by saying this Hotel is located just about one block away from Cavour metro station and two stations away from the colosseum, one away from the termini station, we arrived a little earlier and the concierge was well aware of our long trip and got the room ready , the Room was roomy better than the ones in Paris , hotel very clean , Bed was comfortable as well , the restroom very clean fresh towels, this hotel offered Breakfast which was really good , good choices from fresh natural juices , coffee and the pastries delicious, the area i like it since is in a main street , across the street there is this chinese italian restaurant OMG never have before such of fried rice so good, the Hotel is very safe couple of time we returned really late and not problem once so ever , the room also have a Safe which is a big plus since we didn’t want carry around our passports, i am giving a well recommended Place to stay .

Booked this property for 2 night for 5 guests. Once I arrived they said my suite had no water or electricity. The staff did not allow me to see the room, because he said it was closed, seem strange that the lobby and restrooms had both water and A/C. They send me to a different property from their portfolio called Hotel Flavia. Did not like the property or the staff. they did not give me other options or even an apology. Cheaper hotel and same rate. I was very upset with how they handle their customers. will never go back. i will post pictures of Both their lobby and room. Their continental breakfast runs from only till 9:30, tried it the second morning, arriving at 8:45 and nowhere to si have 10 tables for 50 rooms. I had a coffee and left to have breakfast elsewhere.

We reserved 4 rooms and air conditioning was not working in any of the rooms most of the time. One room had toilet fishing issues which the hotel staff simply did not fix and in the same room the water kettle caught on fire when we tried to boil water. Overall a terrible experience. I would not recommend it at all

Large airy room. Would have looked out onto street, but shutters were half closed and couldn't be adjusted. Really good safe (a necessity in Rome!) Good air con (also a necessity!) Good bathroom/shower etc. Comfy twin beds. Flatscreen TV but sadly only news channels in English- so maybe take an ipad if you want to watch anything. Breakfast buffet was fab! Lots of choices and they def turned a blind eye to people taking lots of stuff for lunch/elevenses!ok location- 8 min walk to colesseum etc. Metro at end of street. Lots of cheapish places to eat close by. We thought good value for money.
