This is not a B&B, there is no Breakfast, you are renting a room. There is nowhere to sit and relax, nowhere to eat if you bring something in. Bring your own soap and shampoo, none provided.

The room was adequate with a pedestal fan provided to replace the broken ceiling fan; I don't think the room temperature would have gone below 30 degrees all night. My email booking showed I had booked one room but I was directed via What'sAp to a different address once I arrived in Rome and the lady who greeted me had to check my details with the boss, including whether I had paid, even though I had the emailed confirmation. Although this is advertised as B&B, there's no breakfast. Bathroom was functional but old with a few features that could use an upgrade. Overall adequate and I got what I paid for.

Just a short 5-minute walk from Roma Termini (Central) train station, and 15 minutes from the Colosseum, which was fantastic. The staff member that arrived to let us in to the building was very helpful and friendly, giving us great advice on sights, food, and getting around during our stay in Rome. The staff member left us to it, and that's where things started to go downhill. The accommodation would be better described as a hostel than a B&B as its name optimistically suggests. The beds were all sagging in the middle, and the room was noisy with people on the street and in other rooms shouting throughout the night. The bathroom was foul with mould around the shower and a floor that was sticky. Overall the room was fairly bare with three beds, a table, a couple of lamps, and a wardrobe that might have fallen apart if you bumped it. There is no daily room cleaning service, and towels did not dry at all. We woke the first morning to no electricity which meant the sanitiser unit attached to the toilet wasn't working so started leaking toilet water on the floor. Brilliant. I tried calling the hosts, but with no answer we braved a cold shower just so that we could get out of the building. We finally received a reply to our messages, and the issues were resolved a few hours later. We're still not sure if the bathroom was mopped with disinfectant, but the smell certainly was still there. We braved three more, noisy nights after that, mainly for the great Gelato place (Fassi) nearby.

We also find a scorpion in our room, we killed it and sent a photo to them but nothing happened..We didn't have any sleep afterwards. Shampoo and soap was taken from our bathroom on the last day without even any notice or asking for permission to get into our room.

The staff were very friendly and helpfull. There is a kitchen for shared use. The location is really close to the train station, it does not look safe at first but we didn't encounter any problem while walking even at night (2AM).

Centrally-located and good value
The room was large and clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan provided. There was a common kitchen with fridge for use. Coffee and tea were provided, if desired. The property was 5 minutes walking distance to the train station and 20 minutes or so walking to the colosseum. Generally, was a good location for the price you pay.

Hmm
Room wasn't too bad. Area isn't pleasant. if you want or need to be close to the train station then fine but if you are going for the sights then you should stay over that area instead. Room was basic, some neglect but I suppose it's reflected In the price.

Very handy to Termini station
This should be taken as a one-off, I hope. The concierge was nice and gave me the low-down on the place, then disappeared as this is more of a self-serve kind of operation. Free wifi and printing service from their own computer which I appreciated. But, once gone, any problems that occurred, we were on our own. First the power cut out for about 10 minutes, leaving everyone at a loss as to when it would return. Didn't take long but it does unnerve you, especially not knowing how long and nobody to talk to about it. Then there were problems with the boiler, in the bathroom off the room just behind ours. The other guest, an Italian who had the owner's number, was able to contact the owner who eventually did show up and ask me about the situation. The boiler kept switching on and off, making a loud knocking sound every few seconds which interrupted my sleep. So I turned it off, with the agreement of the other guests whose bathroom housed the boiler. It meant no heat in the rooms or hot water when I got up early that morning to catch a 7:30 bus. So, points off for room comfort. The owner did say he'd had a repair man in to fix it.

Ideal location for termini station
Did not expect to much as the price was very good. Ideal location for the train station. Free Internet. Met by a pleasant man on arrival who was the cleaner. Downside was our 'private' bathroom was across the communal reception, which you felt you had to use less often. One evening after 22.35pm some one arrived to use the computer/printer (I assume was the owner as I heard a car drive away) which was very inconsiderate .

Stay elsewhere
I booked a non-refundable, standard room WITH a private bathroom for 3 nights. The room was not well maintained. Found lots of dust balls when plugging in my phone into the wall. BTW, the wall outlets dont work. I was so cold that I had to put my clothes on top of me to get warm. The proprietor isnt in this location. No way to contact him as he doesnt respond. Im still waiting for his message. My private bathroom was on the other side of the hotel. I had to lock/unlock it each time as well as when I left my room as other guests are in the common area. Lots of noise from the trash truck and street cars honking. If you are deaf, if you dont mind coming out of your room and dealing with locks to use your bathroom which is located outside of your room then book this place. There could be other hotels with a real private bathroom. The owner was only willing to return 10 euros for my 3 days of being inconvenienced about my bathroom (only after H.Com called him regarding my bathroom, etc). There are 4 rooms (according to the man cleaning who didnt want me to mention his name). Three rooms have a bathroom inside of them, one does NOT (thats the room I was given). Of course, there are no other rooms to change to as they are booked. What a bad memory of Rome.

Better than expected
We stayed four nights and we felt comfortable and safe. When we first arrived, the neighborhood looked somehow unsafe , it's crowded with "Little Asia shops" , but people are very nice and civilised. The Palazzo has a key for the main door, so no one can get inside without it. The room is large, it faces to the Principe Amedeo Street, it's quiet and the sleep is comfortable. The best things about Aloha Rome 2 are: 1.excellent room rate; 2.it's walking distance to all the major touristic attractions and Rome can be discovered and understood only by foot; 3.you have a roman continental breakfast included (consisting in cornetto and cappuccino) at the caffe next door (nice atmosphere) and you can have it any time of the day!

Quirky hotel/apartment in ideal location
Arrived very late at night and thankfully member of staff waiting for us. Taxi driver found it hard to find due to one-way system. Recommend to google street view to see buildings either side prior to visiting. Bathroom very small but fine for us. We loved the breakfast in the local café - popular with locals popping in for coffee and cake on their way to work - take some money with you to buy extra coffee and pastry as one croissant didn't fill up my teenage sons and I need more than one coffee! Felt very safe in this area. No TV - didn't bother us, but needs amending on Expedia website. A variety of teas and coffees available in entrance hall and a big bowl of sweets - nice touch. Able to leave luggage there as we had an evening flight which gave us an extra day sightseeing. Not your usual hotel, but we liked it - like having your own room in an apartment. Lovely staff, great location. Would highly recommend for the price. We did all the usual sights and took a train out to Ostia Antica - would recommend. Had been warned about pickpockets, but thankfully no problem with our usual precautions. Loved walking round at night - felt safe and the monuments looked beautiful all lit up. We all threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, so looking forward to returning to Rome one day and would be more than happy to stay again at Aloha 2. Thanks guys.

One night in Rome.
Private bathroom meant you had a key to the bathroom down the hallway. Not great in the middle of the night. All the coffee supplies available in the common area were graciously taken by one of the other guests.
