"It was a pleasant change to stay in a smaller hotel that had a family feel about it, as opposed to a large soul- less corporate hotel. The staff were friendly, pleasant and courteous. My room was very nicely decorated and filled out, and the en-suiute was spotlessly clean and looked as it it had been recently installed. I also had the benefit of a terrace that I could sit out in. The hotel was very convenient for walking in to Macinaggio that has numerous bars and restaurants to be enjoyed and there is a really safe swimming beach just north of marina. "Ideally situated if you want the best of both worlds. Peaceful hillside setting with beautiful views- A short seven minute drive down a bendy road to Erbalunga with it's restaurants and bars. Bear in mind that Erbalunga is a quiet seaside village/town- nightlife is restricted to restaurants. A fifteen minute drive up the coast will bring you to a marvelous, sandy beach with a low-key beach bar/restaurant. from the house, there is a great view of the isle of Elba."
