Golden Cottage by the Sea, is a true New England Cottage that has been lovingly restored and updated. This quaint 1830's house was completely remodeled in 2015. The panoramic views, Atlantic Coastal Path, and fresh ocean air allow for a true place of peace and renewal. Located in a beautiful area called the Avenues it is between the Emerson Inn and Halibut Point. This is the ideal vacation home. If you choose to hike the coastal path, visit the Historic Village of Rockport or hit the beaches of Rockport and Gloucester you will have plenty to do.

There is great fishing off of the rocks. A small private and rocky beach steps from your back door. A private yard for play. A 5 minute drive and from Rockport shops, art galleries and beaches.

Lots to do! Beautiful!
We spent 9 days in lovely Golden Cottage in June. Loved the musical theatre (Fiddler), a visit to the Crane estate and gardens, poking around the artists’ shops and antique shops, and the many public walks in the area. Relaxing and fun. The room-sized LG AC units were terrific, and the whole house is so well thought-out, though a working toaster and a blender would be good additions. I’d love to come back again!

Great stay for family and friends
The perfect, sea side getaway for a large family or group of friends. Big open space downstairs for community time, and a numerous bedrooms upstairs for private time. Two dedicated parking spaces out front and plenty of curbside nearby. A total win for large groups.

Perfect beach property
We loved the house and location. The view was spectacular. Very spacious and updated inside, although unassuming from the street. The house was clean, well-stocked and comfortable (the beds were especially comfortable). A real gem!

Comfortable, great location, amazing sunsets
We enjoyed our long weekend at the Golden Cottage. The house had room to spare for our family and everyone loved the location. If you are looking for quintessential New England sunsets, this is as good as it gets. Kids loved exploring the granite beach while the parents enjoyed having their morning coffee out on the deck.

Beautiful place
We loved our week in Rockport. The place was great because it was far enough from town to feel quiet and relaxed but close enough to town to enjoy meals out, shopping etc. we enjoyed great walks in the neighborhood and on the sea shore. Also loved that it was close enough to Boston for day trips. The house was comfortable and lovely. Thanks so much for a lovely vacation!

A Must Stay
What a great place to stay for our annual “sisters” fall get away. The house was spacious, comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of towels and linens. Views from the balconies are beautiful. House was in a nice quiet neighborhood great for walks. Enjoyed the coastal causeway path and great views of the Atlantic. Numerous beaches to visit, close to Halibut Pointe State Park and close to town. Would highly recommend.

A Lovely Stay at Golden Cottage
We were a family group of nine. Ages 80 - 12. Each and every one of us loved our stay. The cottage is very spacious and immaculate. The air conditioning was greatly appreciated as we dealt with record temperatures. No matter the daily activities a highlight was gathering on the deck, sharing our adventures, and soaking in the glorious view.

Fantastic location
This is the perfect place to get away in a beautiful setting. The house is set up perfectly and is super comfortable and modern. The deck is unbelievable and we spent most of our time out there. Its very quiet - you can only hear the crickets and the ocean at night. There was an unfortunate problem with the wifi but they did their best to get it fixed as soon as possible - very responsive and super nice. We hope to be able to go back again.

Lovely!
Golden Cottage was just lovely! As noted in other reviews, its more spacious than it appears in photos, and is well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels. I loved the wood floors, even the sloping one in the upstairs hallway! Its nice when a house is updated with new things, like the bathrooms, some of the New England charm is left intact. Hopefully the middle bedroom windows will get fixed so you can open them and hear the ocean.

This house it’s about the VIEW from some of the bedrooms from the kitchen and the beautiful big deck all year long ,we loved the clean bathrooms and the kitchen and the whole house Plenty of room on the first floor for people to do different things the living room big and cozy Love the little streets of Rockport and nearby towns a lot of restaurants to choose from and of course for us was must see Salem of course perfect month of the year and the price is reasonable Thank Brenda for letting us stay in your home We call ourselves the gang from CT😊

Very Charming Getaway
Upon arrival, the cottage has that old cape charm to it. Entering the front door one is in awe of the cleanliness and the spaciousness of the house. There was enough room for the nine of us to have our meals together without being cramped. This house is close enough to take a short trip to the grocery store or into Rockport for the day. The view from the back deck was absolutely breathtaking and I must add that the neighbors were friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend this house.

Wonderful
We had a wonderful time at the Golden Cottage in Rockport!! We stayed for a long weekend while in the area for a family wedding. Our three adult children (in their twenties), two girlfriends, and my husband and I all had a great time there. We loved the view from the back deck and ate breakfast there every morning. The beds are very comfortable and the towel supply was plentiful. We also loved walking around the town of Rockport. Most of our time was taken up with wedding activities, but we did manage to fit in a walk down the path to the scenic rocky beach. Overall it was a great stay and hope to come back again next year and stay longer!!

Property was very clean. Because it only had 2 bathrooms it was not ideal for 8 adults. Also the TV situation was not the best as the password for the streaming services was not provided. The kitchen knives were very dull and there was insufficient larger bowls. I also think the stove needs to be checked out because one or two of the burners did not heat.

Lovely house, great view!
After a mid-August week at this wonderful property, we echo the reviews, below. The house was breezy, spacious, clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We spent lots of time on the grand deck overlooking the ocean and enjoyed many wonderful meals cooked in the modern kitchen and shared at the large dining room table. Sleeping was a dream. The beds were very comfortable and we used the air conditioning on occasion. Wifi and cell phone reception was unpredictable...but that is a Rockport issue overall. Thank-you, Brenda, for making your home available to us.

Most beautiful place on earth
I was planning this trip since a year, since I celebrated my 50th Birthday here. Knowing the Area very well, it was always our dream to have a house out here. This dream became true, at least for 10 days! Coming from Germany we had all different kinds from weather! The first days warm and peaceful, the last days stormy and freezing. I had the greatest Birthday ever, in a place that felt like home. Sitting there, watching the ocean, going on walks, sharing great moments with friends and family! I will miss this place so much being back in Germany, but I WILL come back, to this "most beautiful place on earth "!

Golden cottage by the sea
Our stay at the golden cottage was wonderful. It is a large house that can easily accomadate large families or multiple families. We found it to be extremely clean and bright. There were many windows with beautiful views of the rocky coast. The kitchen was easy to use and the open floor plan makes it easy for a large group to eat together. The living room had very comfortable seating with the added bonus of a fire place. Upstairs the bed rooms were clean the bed linens made you feel like you were in a B+B especially the 2 end rooms with a slider to a private balcony over looking the shore. There is so much to do right there from watching the boats, fishing for striped bass right on the rocks to collecting sea glass. There are beautiful sandy beaches near by as well. I would definitely recommend this house for everyone..
