"Absolutely stunning location. Be sure to book the castle tour, it was fascinating. Also, good idea to book dining in advance-- there are three restaurants in the little square the hotel occupies, but the first I stopped in was fully booked for the evening. "

"Decent budget hotel very close to train station and only a short walking distance from the city centre. The room was spacious and I slept well thanks to it being quiet. The hotel needs refurbishing and the bed made creaking noises whenever I moved and wasn't particularly comfortable. The receptionist Angelique was friendly and helpful, and I was able to store my luggage the following day."

"My 2nd visit here. Love the area. So peaceful despite being not far from the motorway. A great stopping off point on the long route from the very south of Italy. Lovely food for dinner. Huge breakfast. Very friendly helpful staff My only negative comment, no more paper cups. A proper cup in the room for a hot drink and a glass for water in the bathroom. I highly recommend a stay here to explore the area."

"This is a beautiful property. I was visiting family in Piacenza for 6 days and Domus San Martino felt like a home away from home. The manager, Enrico, is friendly, efficient and kind and upgraded me for the second part of my stay to a huge room with a balcony and big bathroom. He was always super responsive to any queries and also suggested an excellent local restaurant and made reservations for us. The room decor in the second room was especially lovely and everything was impeccably clean (thank you Lourdes!) There was a bit of road noise (if you are staying in the front rooms) but it didn’t bother me too much. The location is very central and I was easily able to walk all over the town with regular stops back at my room for a rest / to drop off shopping. All in all, excellent value for the price and I would definitely recommend it."

"Simple adequate place ok for a short overnight stay. Staff is nice. Not very clean nor cosy for sure but functional. Mould in the shower. Has all you need incl. kettle, TV and hairdryer. Bed mattress seemed new but I could feel the springs so I had to turn it around and it was better. Despite what they state on the website the cleaning is not daily and even when done is not great. They only changed the towels and emptied the bins. Breakfast is Italian style so just a hot drink with croissants. Nothing savoury. The location is good but only if you have a car."
