Good choice for those seeking to save a little money. Our room was much cheaper than big-name hotels (e.g., Hilton, Grand Hyatt) on the other side of Barra Olympic Park. Breakfast was excellent, much better than the free breakfasts I've had anywhere in the U.S., with eggs, hot meat, many varieties of breads, fruit, cold cuts, and juices. The savings probably comes from more modest facilities (small lobby, not the grand areas of more expensive hotels), a minimal maintenance budget, and a decidedly modest location. Sinks drained very slowly and our first room had problems in the bathroom that required relocation to a new room. However, the AC worked fine, elevators were adequate, hotel was clean and staff very helpful. The facility is across from a drainage canal or creek that can have quite a sewage odor on some days. I never smelled it inside the hotel, but a friend staying there said he did a day or so before we arrived. Also, as a more modest hotel, you usually don't have cabs waiting outside, so need to plan a little ahead. Only about a 10 minute walk to BRT, though, and local buses are about a block away. Small shopping mall also a block away nearby offers several eating options as well as some small stores. Good choice if you want to save money while still having decent accommodations.
