The hotel is a Classic, a Must-Stay. The staff is very friendly, eager to please. The pool is fantastic. Did not want to leave. Highly Recommended!!

Absolutely fantastic stay
My stay at Gran Melia was absolutely wonderful and it's probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Starting from a fantastic room facilities, amazing views on the beach and the city, divine breakfast and outstanding service. When I lost my watch the staff was incredibly helpful and supportive for which I'm incredibly grateful. I would definitely recommend this hotel whether for a business stay or pleasure and hope will be back there one day myself.

Nice but not excellent
The hotel is situated near a favela (Rocinha) and that’s the reason that the beach infrount is dangerous. The hotel doesn’t bring security in the beach and no proper beach service is possible. The room is well equipped and has a nice view, but the last night we don’t recive cleaning service. The breakfast was ok, but they seem to have an issue with the ONlY coffe machine which didn’t let me have steam milk !! We had to drink cold coffe every single mornin we stayed. I asked for a compensation is descount for this several problems and the manager just justified the facts and was nos able to work out anything for me ! I Payed like a 5 star Hotel and in return I has only a 3 with just a looking of a 5 !! Not really thinking on coming back unless they improve seriously the detail which gives a hotel a real 5 stars !!

I really appreciated Xeina no Front desk she is amazing excellent customer satisfaction, the views from the rooms are amazing, the breakfast could improve ,all areas looks beautiful, confort and luxury around you.

Not quiet ready for prime time
First impression was good, beautiful lobby, but then hit with an overwhelming odor, maybe a disinfectant, it was always present in the main lobby, we braced for it every time we returned to the hotel. The Staff was the best part, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, bedding first class, some small details yet to be addressed do to the newness of the remodel, outlet covers not attached, water pressure in sink was so strong I literally sprayed the entire vanity, mirror and my self the first time I turned it on, a/c very loud, bright green light glowed from TV at night, sauna and steam not working. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood, very quiet with a great beach, which was nice, but no shopping or restaurants, so you need to take a cab everywhere, at between 25 and 50 reais each way to Copacabana and Ipanema and 150 to the Airport, It added up.

Contemporary hotel with a lovely view of the beach
It was a memorable experience that I will cherish with my partner for the rest of our lives. Definitely aim to go back there highly recommended to anyone that's traveling to Rio is doesn't get any better then this place guys and that's a guarantee, the staff, facilities everything is just perfect.

Nice hotel across the street from the beach
Everything about this hotel was amazing. Great staff, rooms, breakfast, pool, view... Their customer service was impeccable. Very respectful people. Great location. They are a little pricey but so worth it.

Hotel muito bonito, com um lindo lobby e quarto bem decorado e confortável. Faltou em nossa opinião um pouco mais de atenção a alguns detalhes e um melhor treinamento do staff da recepção, da piscina e principalmente da segurança. Os seguranças eram bem pouco receptivos e de certa forma inconvenientes.

Erfarenheter från Gran Melia Nacional i Rio
Vi avslutade en månadlång kryssningsresa från Europa i Rio de Janeiro och efter en sista natt på fartyget i hamn i Rio bodde vi två nätter på Gran Melia Nacional i Sao Conrado i Rio. Vi hade bokat ”Red Level” och bodde högst upp på våning 29 med fantastisk utsikt. Red level motsvarar de klubbrum som vissa bättre hotell har som inkluderar viss extra service som innan middag drinkar, eftermiddags kaffe o champange mm. Området Sao Conrado är vid beachen, men i den lugnaste ändan närmast Leblon. Ipanema och Copacabana ligger närmare stadscentrum, men ett lugnare område passade oss utmärkt. Området är utöver beachen lugnt och känns också dagtid ganska tryggt. Servicen är alldeles utmärkt på hotellet som också har ett poolområden, flera barer och en bra restaurang. Vi kan varmt rekommendera Gran Melia Nacional både för familjer och övriga.
