A really bad hotel
Please don't go to this hotel, smells old and it's a hotel. There's nothing good bout this hotel. The location is very good but that's all.

Great location - one block from the beach.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and had a large variety of foods to eat. The room was comfortable and clean but the bathroom is in need of updating. The hallways were horrible - needs new carpet, paint and better lighting..

Very old Hotel - good location
Hotel needs to revamp its appearance. It is a very old Hotel that needs to improve its interior decoration of the rooms. The location is very good, 25m from Ipanema Beach, close to post 10. The breakfast was included, which had a good variety of food.

Close to the beach. restaurants and shopping
I was shocked at the condition of the hotel after paying $300 Cdn per night! There was mould around the bathtub and on the walls. The room was in bad need of some upgrading! We had to ask for towels and toilet paper. The toilet didn't work when we arrived. Breakfast is advertised to start at 6 am but I went at 6 and there were a couple of warm dishes but no toast, bread, muffins, etc. when I went at 7 there were a few more things. It appears to get a full breakfast you need to go after 8 am. No lunch or dinner is served here. There is no pool. However, on our final day we found out that Everest Rio around the corner serves lunch and dinner up on the 23rd floor with amazing views and also has a pool you can use. My suggestion: stay there and not at Everest Park. The only great thing about the hotel is the front desk staff who are very helpful in calling taxis or making suggestions and they allowed me a late check out as my flight was not until 10 pm.

Ok hotel if you're staying overnight
We stayed at this hotel for the price. The room is spacious, but a little run down. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The bathrooms need a little remodeling, great water pressure, but looks run down as well.

Good location decadent hotel
This hotel used to be a nice one in Ipanema. It's a pity that the owners decided to abandon the place. It's in need of urgent care. Delapidated, bad windows, noisy rooms, awful ar condition system, carelees staff, diety carpets, faulty lifts. The only plus is the excellent location. Fantastic place close to everything next to the beach, shopping, transportation, restaurants, night life, etc.

Good location, everything else very dated and worn. Old smelly carpet on the floor and horrible bathrooms from the 60`s. Not even close to defending that price, will never go back.

I didn't like iyktbat all. I wrote a review in Portuguese, however it was not approved. The bottom line is don't spend so much money for a place like that even though has a great localization.

Not so good
I was in Rio for a conference and needed a hotel near IMPA, and this was a reasonable distance. It is close to the beach, but do not expect any nice views. The room was tiny, and the hotel in general seemed in a very bad condition, the hallways were dirtier than a bad motel. The service seemed fine, as I suppose it is essentially the same service as for the larger Everest Rio around the corner (taxi cabs will bring you there by the way).

Great stay, nice hotel
It was a great hotel, overall really really good. I would update a little bit some furniture and I would include SAP on cable TV because for people who don't speak portuguese they don't have SAP. And sometimes channels didn't work. Great neighborhood, Ipanema is the best, and the hotel is at steps from the beach which is great. I would totally recommend it!

This is not luxurious but the beds are comfortable, the staff are very helpful and you're 100 meters from Ipanema beach. What more do you want?

Location makes the difference
I had a 2 night stay over at the Everest Park. Hotel is an older establishment, for what your get the pricing is reasonable. Location is once block from the beach, do not expect an sort of view. I didnt opt for the buffet breakfast, but it seemed popular. I arrived at 10am, the hotel sticks to the 2pm check-in, this isn't a chain where status could hlp to get earlier or later check-in. Hotel is also within less than 5 minutes walk of many bars and restaurants. Area felt safe, police presence was pretty heavy. Don't confuse this hotel with the Caesar Park next door, which is the more upscale and known hotel.

Never again!
I stayed here for one night on 4/20/2013. The hotel is located 1 block off of Ipanema Beach - so the location is nice. The accomodations at the hotel were horrible - it is one of the least expensive in Ipanema - so I didn't expect much but it was really bad. Toilet broke, shower pipes shook violently, air conditioning unit was in window, sliding glass door didn't open. The bed was okay but I was so tired I could have slept on anything. The front desk clerk was nice when I checked in and was able to provide a great, safe, inexpensive tour for me. The clerk the next day was not interested in helping me at all. Internet worked pretty good, but you have to stay connected constantly or else it makes you re-signon. Breakfast was included and was okay. I would say for 1 night, this hotel was okay. If you are on a romantic trip / honeymoon - no way! I would rather have spent an extra $100-200 a night to be in a hotel on the beach such as Caesar Park or the Marriott.

Great location, less expensive than luxury options
Half a block from the beach, free internet (if a bit spotty at times), free (decent) breakfast, tiny (but clean) room+bathroom. No particular view, but bright enough. All hotels in Ipanema are overpriced, but considering that, I'd stay here again.

The location is great and the staff was generally very pleasant. However, the hotel and room itself is is dire need of refurbishment. Burn marks in the carpeting, stains on the walls of the bath, etc. It looked like they had cleaned it as well as they were able, but this was an old run-down hotel. You can't clean old and beat-up. On the plus side for business travel, the WiFi was free and pretty speedy (about 3Mbps if I remember correctly)
