Great hotel, room and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Reception were always very helpful. The area is in a "party" area of the inner city, lots of bars and restaurants, and character, though can be a little loud on weekends. The hotel is within easy walking distance (10-15 mins) of the cathedral and city centre, which was wonderful.

BEWARE — DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. not only was my room dirty with mold but I FOUND BED BUGS and the personnel only offered to change the sheets. I had to demand them wash my clothes in HOT WATER free of charge to ensure I would not bring bed bugs back home with me. Absolutely awful and neighboring areas were dirty and filled with homeless people.

Rio de Janeiro Cathedral, Cacarioca Aqueduct, Selaron Steps, etc. are within a few minutes' walk. There are many restaurants. I was a little worried about the security depending on the time of day. The room was clean enough. I couldn't connect to the hotel's WiFi. So I asked the staff, but they told me to look at the note I was given at check-in.
