"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. "Good hotel with amazingly clean rooms. Room was big and recently renovated, lots of space and nice touches like tea and coffee in the room. Big windows let in loads of natural light, and opening windows allowed fresh air which was nice. The location allows for easy access and parking, and then it's a very short walk to the centre of the historic town. Friendly team and good breakfast. As some other people commented, no, they don't speak English - but it turns out the hotel is in Germany, so...

"I enjoyed my two night stay at this hotel. Single rooms in many hotels are often cramped afterthoughts, but I was pleased with mine at this one. It had a window wall with balcony looking at a nice view, a comfortable sitting area with a full size couch and a comfortable bed. The room was excellent value. Breakfast was inexpensive but very limited in choice. The restaurant's evening buffet and alacarte menu are also very limited, so I think it better to try a restaurant in town for supper. The...
