Our one-bedroom, one-bathroom rustic cabin (Singer Cabin #2) is located just north of Ouray. As one of three dwelling units on a multi-acre property, this cozy cabin's secluded location is one of its primary draws. You will be immersed in the heart of the forest while still having easy access to the nearby communities of Ouray and Ridgway and the range of activities the region has to offer. The main floor has a living room, dining area, kitchen, and full bath with a walk-in shower. Large windows in the living room provide lots of warmth and sunshine, along with mountain views. The kitchen is compact yet has everything you will need for your mountain stay. The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove and floor heaters. This cabin has one bedroom with a king bed located upstairs, providing beautiful views to wake up to.

Bed Configuration:

Master Bedroom: King Bed (Upper Level)

Satellite TV and WiFi are provided for your stay—parking: room for 2 vehicles. Riding off-road vehicles are NOT permitted on the property, but hiking is welcomed. Please note: For winter stays (September through May), a 4WD or AWD vehicle is required.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

This was a return visit for my husband and me. The cabin is simple, but meets our needs. The view from upstairs is the best part. It’s oh so quiet and lovely outdoors. We love Ouray and this is a great location for us.

Really nice secluded Cabin - 4 miles from Downtown Ouray and Ridgeway and close to Orvis Hot Springs. We really enjoyed our stay and the stunning mountain view from the bedroom. Host was extremely helpful and informative. We probably will return to the location.

The place was beautiful. Views from the windows and picnic bench were breath taking. Cabin was very cozy. Only noises we could hear were birds. Just the right size for the two of us. Loved seeing the wild turkeys walk by.

Turkey Time in Ridgway
Four Merriam’s tom turkeys came to visit every evening. A nice 5x5 Miley stopped by. No bears. Lots of cloud cover all week in Ouray, but was warm and sunny in Montrose. Every time we started to head to a hot spring we heard thunder. We found other fun things to do including the Black Canyon NP.

Perfect cabin
The cabin was just right for the two of us. Quiet, remote, yet close enough to town. Had all the amenities we wanted. Saw mule deer and wild turkeys on the property.

This cabin is very secluded up a private dirt road with a very short drive to downtown. We saw many wild turkeys and had a cow elk visitor 2 mornings in a row that we could see right out our bedroom window. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay!

Great location & amazing wildlife
This cabin isn't luxurious by any means, but it was quite nice! Location is very quiet and private, with loads of critters running through the property from time to time: wild turkeys, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, deer, etc. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Perfect retreat!
If you're looking for a quiet secluded place to stay near Ouray, this is it! Perfect for my husband & I! We saw wild turkeys every day and many "friendly" chipmunks. I can see how it might be tricky to get to in the winter, but it was a wonderful place to spend a few much needed days away from the hustle and bustle of life!

Location, Location and Location
Location, location and location is the commonly know key to real estate and this property is no different. It is located halfway between Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado behind a hill in such a way that it can not be seen from the highway. You can not hear any of the noise from the highway. The cabin is fine for two people and the only small nit I have to pick with it that the bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom/shower is downstairs. It was nice to discover that there was a new flatscreen TV downstairs and also a handrail next to the stairs going to the bedroom. Also had wild turkeys roaming through the yard a couple of times a day. We look forward to staying here again.

The only thing that I absolutely did not like is there wasn’t any air conditioner. It got really hot almost everyday that we were there and it got really hot until late in the evening it would cool down and it felt great but there wasn’t even a window unit. If I had to recommend anything for the owners/rental company, I would definitely invest in some air conditioning!!
