We were in town for an event at the convention center with our two mini dachshunds the place was perfect for us to sleep for 2 nights and have our pups with us
I stayed here with my husband and mother-in-law when we visited family in Richmond. It was such a lovely stay! The house was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for the visit. We would definitely visit again!
This house was great for a quick, overnight stay in Richmond. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

It was a very nice house. We loved it. She had it stocked up really good and labeled real good where everything was. If I'm ever in Richmond again I would definitely stay here
In transit, stayed one night overnight. Easy location to find right off I95. Excellent communication with Host; quiet location, easy check in. Close to amenities such as take out foods and corner store. House is also wheelchair/ Walker accessible as it is a bungalow with a ramp up to the front door. Highly recommend this rental.
This home embraces what Richmond is all about. We had everything we needed and the owner is delightful and friendly. Highly recommend staying here and is close to so many historical places and restaurants.
Driving from Canada to Florida, we booked this home for a nights stay on the way down and are returning for one night on the way back.
It’s perfect! Great location, easy to find off the I95. You’ve got everything you’ll need. Fantastic yard. Completely fenced, perfect if you got a dog with you. Quiet, close to amenities.
We went down to visit with our son who just moved to the area. House was in a perfect location and close to everything that we needed. Loved the fenced in yard for the dogs. Would definitely recommend staying here if you need a place in Richmond.
This was such a sweet little stay for my family and I in Richmond. The owner is very quick to respond to questions and very accommodating. No crazy lengthy check out processes like other VRBOs we've had in the past. Easy check in, even easier check out. Spacious kitchen and back yard.
We went to Richmond to visit friends who live near this property. It was easy to get to their house and to Cary Street and Maymont for a bit of fun and food. It was a great weekend and the hosts made us feel welcome and comfortable. We have already spoken of staying here again in the future.
Our party was three adults, ages 51 - 73. This little home was a relaxing, comfortable stop for the night. Much more relaxing and quiet than a hotel room. Propery was clean and comfortable. Just what we needed for an overnight stop.
This charming house was perfect for my weekend visit in Richmond. My son and I, and our 2 small dogs had everything we needed or wanted. The huge fenced-in yard is a plus when traveling with dogs. Walking them in the neighborhood was also an option as it’s a safe, quiet community off of the busy road. The owner met me when I arrived to make sure I got in without trouble and let me know she was just a text away, should I need anything.
Being early spring, the weather was cold and the bedrooms got chilly with the doors closed, but there are plenty of blankets as well as space heaters (I didn’t use the heaters) so that’s not a complaint, just for awareness. I would stay here again when I come through Richmond.
We enjoyed our one-night stay - the house was just what we needed while passing through Richmond. The house is older and is nothing fancy but has all the essentials and was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt secure. We appreciated it was a dog-friendly house. There was a small hiccup when we were locked out of the house accidentally and when we called the owner we realized the phone number in the listing was not a valid number. Everything worked out in the end though and we were able to get back into the house.
Immaculate. I prefer whole house rentals to hotel rooms when traveling with my 9 month old Mini Schnauzer, Baby. I like having outdoor space for the puppy to play. Now that I have retired, I travel a bit and must say that this is THE cleanest property I have ever stayed in. I stayed in a half million dollar lake house last week that was so dirty I slept on the recliner. If u r looking for modern amenities, this isnt the place for you. But if you are looking for a nice quiet clean spot to relax in, I highly recommend The Blue Door and Delores.

Disappointed
When we walked in the house smelled musty as if it hadn’t been cleaned.l for a while. It was hot and there were no directions about turning on the window units. We had to plug one in. The property owner could have cooled it down for us and would have made a better impression.
The ceiling fan in the kitchen felt like it would fall down when pulling the cord to turn on the light.
The tub in the bathroom was totally stained with a brown stain. No one would have wanted to step in it no matter if it had been bleached clean.
I’m not sure how properties are vetted but this was not the quality that I was expecting and had experienced with VRBO before. I will be slow to try again.
My wife, son, and 2 dogs stayed here over Thanksgiving and enjoyed our stay. Communication with Delores was easy and she was very responsive. The back yard was great, my son and 2 dogs had a blast playing in all the leaves and there was plenty of space for them to run around. The inside of the home is dated and because of that can seem not as clean as it actually is. We would absolutely recommend others stay here and if we're ever back in the area wouldn't hesitate to come back. Thanks Delores!
It was great. Very accommodating for our dog. He LOVED the fence yard. Very comfortable house. Great Taco truck right around the corner. Very easy to get to the State park and to downtown.
The most comfortable and clean home one could imagine. The Host is responsive to anything you might need. Highly recommended staying here when in Richmond, you will not be disappointed. Wonderful place!
