Lovely cottage, perfect for exploring the area.
We had a lovely stay at The Old Barn, it’s well equipped, quiet and dog friendly. The parking worked well, we have a 4x4 and a tow bar mounted bike rack. We also appreciated having a secure shed for our bikes. The neighbours are friendly and made us feel welcome, we are planning to return to the cottage to explore the area further. My only comment is about recycling as we couldn’t find a recycling bin. But we did locate and use the local recycling facility, which is at The Reeth Dales Centre.

Comfortable well located property
The house was a comfortable base for walking in Swaledale, large enough for 4 adults. If you want to self-cater there are all the facilities you need; if not, there are 2 pubs providing food within a stone’s throw. The central heating was very welcome on cold wet days. There are several walks you can start from the house, and many more if you’re prepared to drive a few miles. We would strongly recommend it.

Perfect location, perfect accommodation
This holiday home is wonderful! Especially as it does have ample parking for 2 cars, we had a Volvo and a Honda CRV. Very comfortable (we found the sofa and chair to be perfect) with a well stocked kitchen, the first batch of fuel for the fire was very welcome in a very wet Aug! You are in a central location within the village without being on the main road. Within 200 yrds of 3 welcoming pubs (which all do food) and are dog friendly, a newsagents, village store and 2 excellent bakeries. Not to mention the ice cream parlour, which is well worth a visit……or 2. The surrounding area is beautiful we hired mountain bikes 1 afternoon which was great. The Forbidden Corner is excellent especially if you have children. A wonderful find in a wonderful location somewhere we would definitely return to. Thank you very much

Perfect location for hikers,cyclists,runners...
We had a nice holiday living in Hanna's house. Everything was as described. The house is easy to find. It seems bigger than in the photos. It was comfortable to live in. Only the sofa, as someone mentioned earlier, is not the most comfortable. Thanks for a nice vacation 🙂

Perfect location
The cottage is just at the back of 2 of the pubs so nice and close to the green and great for my husband who is disabled. It is a lovely well equipped cottage with everything you need and it has plenty of space upstairs and downstairs. The garden is delightful and the cottage was immaculately clean. We would stay here again very happily.

Loved this cottage. So handy for all amenities in Reeth. Great garden for our 2 dogs. I was a little anxious before we came with the current situation, but should not have worried as place was spotless. Everything provided that you would need and the milk and biscuits was a lovely touch. I must mention what a great bath, wanted to sit in it for hours after our days walking, it's massive. Private parking was also a bonus and the drive is gated so no worries about our car. It's a little tight in the back lane but we have a Landrover and did not have any problems I will say that I agree with another comment that the sofa and chair are not the most comfortable but didn't have to sit on them long as was out walking every day and pub on an evening. Thank you for a wonderful week. Must also highly recommend the Kings Arms for a relaxing evening and great food and company.

Excellent cottage
Quiet location but just yards from the green with its dog-friendly pubs. Have stayed in Swaledale many times and this is now a favourite cottage. Liked the open-plan living space and like several other reviewers thought that the living area furniture could be more comfortable.

Great location in lovely village
Just a short step from the village green and all its amenities but a lovely, quiet location. The enclosed garden is a real sun trap and was perfect for our dog to enjoy being outside. Cottage has everything you need to enjoy your holiday. Only gripe would be that the seating could be more comfortable. That said, it would not stop me from booking the Old Barn again.

Nice cosy cottage in Reeth
Travelled as a couple with our 2 black labs. The cottage was fine for our needs. The living room area is quite small but was ok for us with a sofa and arm chair and a lovely log burning fire. There is a tv with free view and good WiFi. There is a well equipped modern kitchen and dining table with 4 chairs to eat at. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and modern bathroom. The double bed is nice and comfortable. To the rear of the property is a nice garden and there is ample parking. It is a little tight getting into the drive but no problem if you reverse in. The big winner of this property is the location. Reeth is a lovely place for exploring the Dales with 3 dog friendly pubs all serving food. The property is set back from the main road so it is nice and peaceful and everybody we spoke to including the neighbours were extremely friendly and welcoming. In summary we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return.

Nice location but....
Overall we had a very pleasant stay in Reeth However certain things let the property down a bit. The lounge area is very outdated. Chair and sofa were from the 70's and very uncomfortable. There was no shower curtain fitted. We had to get it out of the linen cupboard and hang it ourselves. Drive is very tight to turn into if you have a family sized car.
