"A nice apart hotel in Douro Valley. Very reasonably priced. Spacious and clean apartment with parking on premises. Location of the hotel are wrong on both hotels.com and Google Maps. The hotel is at least two more blocks east. Check-in instructions were incomplete making it impossible to open the main door. It took over 1 hour to reach someone after 8pm to get the issue resolved. "

"Staying at the Casa Doña Edite Guesthouse is an amazing experience. It is a 15 minute drive from Pinhão but truly worth it. Our room was very clean and comfortable and I think the pool view rooms may be best. Bathrooms are large with an excellent shower. A sitting common area is available for use if required. "Amazing property and perfect location to explore Amarante. Only stayed for one night but it was just what I needed. The building is quite old but I like the traditional style of it. I would definitely return if in Amarante again!"

"The property was gorgeous and well-appointed. Margarida was a very friendly hostess. The room was very large and very quiet. It looked out into a large yard that had beautiful gardens and pool area. Our breakfast was extensive and generous. A great stay for off the beaten path-very relaxing. In a very nice town."

"A bit confusing at check in because the person giving us directions spoke limited English, but once inside they were very pleasant! Room was outstanding, great views and very spacious !! "

"We had 2 rooms and they were both extremely clean and so picturesque. It was a rainy night and our room was a bit chilly but fortunately my son and his girlfriend in the other room prefer a cool room we used the extra blanket in their room and had a cozy sleep. The only less comfortable part was that there was only a single pillow per person and they were a bit small. The breakfast the next morning was amazing, with so much variety and homemade goodness."

"Our arrival at the front door coincided with the manager walking out to switch on the central heating. No introductions were offered or made which left us feeling rather underwhelmed. Our room was exceptionally clean although a little tired and in need of some maintenance. The other house guests had booked through companies that specialise in walking tours and were provided with lunch packs each day. "Great place. Wonderfully decorated with robin’s egg blue trim, sturdy and functional furnishings. Just beautiful, the way the light streams in from the shuttered windows. Tranquil (albeit with country sounds like roosters). Peaceful. It is easy to walk into town, either along a hiking trail or along the highway, which has a sidewalk after a while. "What an amazing place to find!! We loved our lodging and could not have enjoyed it more. The bathrooms are modern and the beds so comfortable. Walking the grounds was a perfect way to spend some time. They delivered fresh bread everyday and the breakfast we got was delicious. "Great spot overall. Banilda at the front desk went above and beyond. A rainstorm leaked through some of the walls and they shifted us to another room that was a definite upgrade. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a great deck. Would love to come back."

"We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical. "

"Este es uno de los lugares más hermosos que he visto en mi vida. La comida es excelentísima, las personas del restaurante son muy amables, se esfuerzan mucho. En la recepción son más fríos, a excepción de Sara que fue muy, muy atenta y servicial. Recomiendo MUCHO este alojamiento. "

A beautiful quinta which had everything we needed!

"A fantastic stay at a beautiful property with amazing views and surroundings - and dog friendly ! We had the best time including our Labrador who loved exploring the vineyards ! Shame we couldn’t use the pool as it wasn’t very suitable due to the weather, but nevertheless, it was a great experience ! Topping it off with great hospitality throughout !"
