Fantastic rustic cabin with your own private river spot!
We stayed in this home over the massive June heatwave of 2021. The cabin is absolutely adorable - very rustic (though kitchen and bathrooms are updated). There is AC in the downstairs, which was a life saver during the heat of the day. The BEST part about this property is the outdoor area. The back deck has a beautiful view of the lazy river below. A short walk down the back of the property leads you to a fantastic fire-pit with a river view for s'mores. A little further down the pathway is your own private river spot!! A great, very safe spot for wading around (if you can handle the icy water). We spent entire days lazing by the river while the kids played. We did have a serous problem with the well pump stopping completely one day (like ZERO water in the toilets or sinks). Vacasa was very responsive to the problem, and after a 10pm call the night before, the water was restored by 11am the next day. Inconvenient, but it's a rustic cabin, and these things are to be expected (if you don't like rustic, you won't like this cabin). Overall, a 4-star house with a 5+++star river property!

Not ideal for a winter family holiday
It’s small, tight, kitschy and low-ceilinged as other reviews have stated. Pros: the location on the creek is lovely. The 2nd floor sitting room affords beautiful views of the rushing water and moss-covered trees. There are heaters everywhere so the cabins gets warm and toasty fast. Cons: This is the only place we have ever rented anywhere that offers only basic cable. No CNN. No ESPN. No kids shows. One local ABC affiliate, one Fox affiliate and lots of reruns of Andy Griffith. We were there over NYE and couldn’t watch any bowl games or the ball drop. We couldn’t stream bc their internet is so slow. We’ve rented the cabin next door before — they include Netflix, Amazon prime video, HBO and an Alexa! And we could be on zoom for meetings! Also this house had no light at all on the deck. It was pitch black out there when using the grill. The house offers no flashlights. Ridiculous and dangerous! And only four dinner plates and four bowls await you here. Get ready to wash dishes between every meal. Bring your own Saran Wrap, aluminum foil, ziploc baggies and Tupperware for storage. This rental has not one option available for your leftovers.

Definitely will go back!
This was everything I wanted it to be-peaceful, quiet, cozy, easy access to the creek and the mountain....I could go on and on. The jet tub was lovely and it was fun to use the fireplace. Can’t wait to go back for more relaxation in the future!

Nice cabin, pictures a little misleading
The property was nice but much smaller than I expected based on the pictures in the listing. Probably the wide angle lens made the place look bigger than it really is. The stove was not working but we did receive a credit for the inconvenience. For the cost per night, I would think it would include 1 bundle of firewood per paid night instead of just 1 bundle. I would recommend this property but just know it is not as spacious as the pictures appear. And I hope you get better weather than we had.

Awesome cabin!
This property is so charming and you can't beat the location. It appears rustic but has all of the amenities of a modern home. Plenty of light and electrical outlets. The bathrooms are immaculate and very up to date. The furniture is plentiful and cozy and the antiques/decorations fit right in with the outdoor setting . There are great restaurants nearby and the hiking trails are all within a short drive. We would definitely stay here again!

Great property
We had a wonderful family hiking vacation at this beautiful property. The only thing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is that we lost power and water 2 nights before the end of our stay. We assumed it was due to a small hail storm. We had called the management for help, the rep told my husband to hunt for the breaker box underneath the property, and it was locked. No help was sent, we couldn't live without electricity or water, we decided to check out a day early. We asked for a refund and no refund was honored. Nor did the rep followed up as she had promised.

Good location, some minor issues
Nice central location, close to Mt Hood activities, as well as restaurants and grocery store. Pros: Charming cottage feel. Solid wood floors, walls and ceilings. Attractive decorations - antique without going too kitsch. Amazing back yard directly on Clear Creek. Nice elevated back deck with grill where you can relax in nature. Basic Internet (1-2 Mbps down DSL) and basic cable TV. Good AT&T cell signal strength. Cabin also had phone landline (that we did not use). Cons: Physically small property with low ceilings and tight spaces. Ceiling on main floor is only 6'6" high, and sloping rooflines combined with small rooms mean that even a 6' tall individual will be bumping their head or shoulders in many spaces. There is not 6' of clearance in the master bath shower, nor at the foot of the queen bed in the master bedroom (as well as the stairs and many other locations). The cabin location is only about 50 yards off Lolo Pass Road - a major striped two lane road with a 45 mph speed limit that people regularly speed on. There is substantial late night street noise from trucks and motorcyles, particularly if you are visiting during the summer and have to sleep with windows open due to heat. Finally, some of the cabin supplies were sub-par, especially considering the premium pricing for this cabin versus others in the area. Generic rough toilet paper that felt like sandpaper, the cheapest thin paper towel you could buy, and no Kleenix/tissue paper. It would be a small thing to improve service in this area. Overall we would rent here again.

Classic Mt. Hood A Frame
I lived here at Mt Hood, right down the road from this property, for 10 years. This all wood A Frame is vintage Mt. Hood. The location, right on Clear Creek, captures the spirit of the land beautifully. My family was here a the end of June. We had great weather, and played in the creek. It's just a few minutes into Welches to pick up supplies or go out to eat. It's not far to Timerline, and the Trailhead for hiking is just down LoLo Pass Rd. A wonderful Place!

Absolutely Amazing
We loved this place!!!! It has everything you need! Anything we needed it was right there! One thing....spiders are big and around. So keep your luggage closed and check your bed before sleep! We loved to hear the sounds of the creek at night. The back porch had the perfect ambiance! It was great to get up in the morning and have my tea while enjoying the sounds of the wild life! We loved the cleanliness of the cabin and the jacuzzi was HUGE! Thank you so much for letting us stay here!!!!!

Really lovely place in a gorgeous setting.
Glad to report that the beds have been improved! All were very comfy. This is a charming cozy place full of wonderful pieces of history and memorabilia. It was pounding rain almost the whole time, but we all gathered in the living room around the fireplace and enjoyed each other's company.

A beautiful area. Perfect location.
The house was as advertised. An amazing location with a small river behind adding it’s wonderful music. The house is very comfortable. But the stairs would be a challenge to people with mobility issues. We highly recommend staying here as there are a number of amazing hikes within a very short drive. A ranger station with information and excellent maps is two miles away. Restaurants and coffe shops are also very close.

Great location but a challenging layout
Very nice property and beautifully located with deck overlooking creek. However, very narrow, steep, low ceiling staircase leading up to the bedrooms. Very challenging carrying luggage up and down. Also, no bathroom upstairs for guest or 2nd bedroom, so if you wake up in middle of night, you are having to navigate this staircase down to the 1st level. Although bath downstairs is nice - but toilet seat is loose and nearly broken. Hot tub refers to bathroom tub, and so there is no outdoor spa. Also, mattress in guestroom is old and uneven. Needs replacing. But many good hiking trails nearby - highly recommend salmon river hike - goes for 14 miles, and has a nice elevation climb if you go far enough
