Staff is pretty rude and unhelpful. Highlight of my stay was staff entering my room without permission or warning. If you value privacy this is not your place. It’s by no means a 4 star hotel…you’d be better of staying at a generic chain than this place. Saving grace is location.

The hotel was charming. From the outside it does not look like much. But inside there is clever and eclectic decor. Others have noted the rooms are small. For us they were fine, but we understand for the $$ something bigger might reasonably be expected. We figured that we were paying more for the location (which was great). The restaurant was excellent.

A neat location right on the harbor with big boats being repaired nearby. Nice views of the water and distant mountains. The decor in the lobby was charming and whimsical with lots of spaces to socialize and relax. The room was very simple and small (my partner compared it to a dorm room designed by IKEA) but the bed and linens were very comfortable and we slept well. The curtains were good and the room was quiet. I wish there had been a real chair in the room or on the balcony instead of just a stool. A highlight of the hotel was the good breakfast buffet- delicious and full of variety. Very pleasant staff. Our fellow guests were a pleasant mix of families, retired folks and couples. We could easily walk to restaurants and sights and it felt very safe. The parking situation was a bit sketchy but it was really fine. Limited parking in the alley between the hotel and the harbor but there's a huge gravel parking lot right nearby which although it seemed a bit dodgy (some cars looked like they hadn't been driven in years), was perfectly fine and there was always a spot available.

This was a great place to stay in the city. The hotel has LOTS of little lounges and areas to wait or hang out. The food was good (try the lobster pie) and the room was nicely laid out. We found a big free parking lot half a block behind the hotel. We could see the harbor from the balcony and it was an easy walk to places to eat, shop and some of the museums. I would stay there again.

We have travelled across Europe and this hotel is by far the best! The front desk show that they are happy you chose their hotel. Splurge and book the king suite - amazing! Fantastic bakery on the corner - Brikk. 10 minute walk to Lava Show, Fly Over Iceland and Whale exhibit. 15 minutes to old town with lots of shopping. Hotel has loads of little rooms called lounges - some with fireplace or couches. Just a fantastic stay all the way around!!

The room is exactly what I needed for a short stay in Reykjavik… the staff is very kind and always willing to help. I also appreciated the green initiative to forego housekeeping service. The lobby is great to hang out and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.

I really wanted to like this property but it just has to many downsides. From the outside it looks great super cute theme throughout the hotel however it was deceiving. First the hotel staff is very unfriendly and act as if you should be happy they are there to help you. The room was a shoe box with uncomfortable beds paper thin walls and the bathroom that was a foot away from the bed with a door that didn’t seal all the way. Had a nice balcony but that’s about it. The bar was nice drinks and food were good. Location was okay the marina is kinda loud and ugly. Definitely would pick somewhere else next time.
