Booked this hotel via the Wotif app and the room was clean and looked exactly as advertised but the listing itself was misleading. This listing does not state that this hotel is situated in someone’s house and that you have to walk through the owner’s personal living space and belongings to access the room. There is no front desk as all dealing were done in the host’s kitchen. There was no bar/lounge unless you joined the host and their family on the couch in their living room which would’ve felt a bit odd and intrusive. There was no tea/coffee making facilities/fridge apart from those in the host’s own kitchen but as a guest it felt a bit uncomfortable to access these. Having a seperate kettle and small fridge in the room would’ve been a nice amenity. Upon arrival we parked in the wrong parking spot as the one outside the property was already taken and were told to move immediately; for future bookings I’d recommend clearly stating which park you’d like guests to park in to avoid an unpleasant first meeting. The host did recommend we take off our shoes in the house which was fine, but it would be nice to be given directives in advance to create a more harmonious and comfortable entry. Had we of known the circumstances that this booking was to be in someone’s shared house we would not have booked this property; as it did feel uncomfortable as if we were invading someone’s personal home. However, the room itself was clean and presentable. The owner did kindly offer to assist.
