4BR/3Bth, Bend Country Pastoral 9 Mt View, Quiet Peaceful 9 Acre Getaway Retreat

Plan your vacation getaway and escape the destination resorts at our quiet & peaceful 4 BR, 3 Bath, lodge home retreat on 9 private acres north of Bend, "in the country but not far away". Beautiful 9 Cascade Mt view overlooking a corner of the legendary Deschutes R.; enjoy area Skiing, Golfing, Fishing, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Biking, Micro Breweries, & more.

THE SPACE:
We designed the outside of our lodge home retreat with Breckenridge batten board siding, rough-sawn beams, porches, and 3 decks to "live outside", and move around with the sun and temperatures. Enjoy meals and barbecues together while taking in the amazing views of 9 Cascade Mt, overlooking lush green alfalfa fields, and a bend of the legendary Deschutes River.
Enjoy 2,000 sq ft of living area, 4 Bedrooms, 3 full Baths, Gourmet Kitchen, Dining Rm, & Great Room, and Laundry Rm. The Master BR has a wonderful king bed, it's own private full bathroom, & smart TV; the other 3 BRs have comfortable Queen beds. The 3 full bathrooms have showers with Travertine tile floors and walls, knotty alder cabinets, and granite tops, and the Main Baths has a tub w/ glass surround. The 3rd full bathroom is in the hall between BR 3 & 4 and it also has convenient access to the hot tub.
The Great Room is where everyone hangs out together cooking, playing games, watching movies, and relaxing together. It has vaulted ceilings, beautiful Knotty Western Birch floors, and a wood stove for that winter ambiance. Spread out together on the 3 sofas and chair to watch the game or movies on the 50" HDTV Smart App TV which has also has Dish and Wi-Fi for streaming; there are also DVD's in the cabinet.
The Gourmet Kitchen and Dining Rm have Knotty Alder cabinets and a Buffet, all with Granite counter tops. The Island Bar seats 6, the DR table seats 10; all of the furniture is imported Indian Rosewood. The Gourmet Kitchen is fully equipped, 6 burner gas cooktop with hood & warming lights, spices, and basic condiments. We have our own 450 ft. well with the best tasting water in Oregon, and with no chemicals.
Outside you have 3 decks with 1500 sq ft to enjoy all your outdoor activities; out on the front deck is where the magic is, a full 180 degree amazing view of 9 Cascade Mts. In the evenings sit around the gas fire pit in the four cushion rockers with a glass of wine and review the day's adventures and make plans for tomorrow. For outside meals on the front deck there's a table for 6, and 4 around the firepit; on the north deck there's 2 more tables that seat 12 in the shade. After dinner soak those aching muscles from all of the day's activities in the Hot Tub while taking in the amazing views.
When it's hot there's always a nice breeze on the north deck; it's a great place to sit in the afternoon shade, play cards, or take a siesta in the lounge chairs. Also, there's a play structure for the kids; and farther out on the lawn there are two hammocks in the shade of the Juniper trees for some serious R & R. The Horseshoe pit and Boule court are out on the north side, too.
When it's a little chilly in the morning, the back deck catches the morning sun and is a wonderful place to have your coffee, sit and read, or gather for some early morning conversation.
We recently added a 40' rock water feature stream that cascades down the hill from the Gazebo and falls into the pond, it's a great area to take some wine and cheese and enjoy a picnic or morning coffee while gazing at the view and listening to the water rush over the rocks.
Also up on the south side lawn by the Gazebo is the Bocce court where those who are more competitive can take on some challenges. If Bocce' isn't your game maybe you can get some revenge at the horseshoe pit.
Some of our family favorite memories have been sitting outside around the fire pit, after the sun sets the sky gets amazingly dark with no light pollution, all of the stars and planets come out and you can watch for meteors and satellites. Everyone who has stayed at the home are always amazed by the views and the quiet and peaceful surroundings, it's "in the country but not far away", only 10 min. away from restaurants and stores if you need anything.

GUEST ACCESS:
You have complete access to everything described above in "The Space".

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
We use our apartment on the right end of the home as sort of our "base camp"; when we have guests is when we usually do our traveling in our motorhome, visit our our kids and grandkids, or visit friends. If we happen to be there for a couple days in between trips we are out of sight/out of mind, and are always respectful of your privacy, you'll probably never see or hear us, unless you need something. Guests always say that they didn't even know we were there. The construction is designed for both areas to be insulated and quiet; we want you to have fun, watch movies, play music, games, and have a great time with your family and friends.

In the winter we suggest having an AWD all wheel drive vehicle with traction tires, or to have tire chains, which will make it easier for you to get around the area when there is snow.

GUEST INTERACTION:
Some guests want to come and relax and just hang out; and others want to get out and explore the area and get involved in all of the outdoor activities that Central OR has to offer. Tell us a bit about yourselves, what your plans are and what you would like to do while you are here. We want to make your stay fun and enjoyable, we can give you recommendations and information about what to see and do, just let us know; we'd love to hear your story!

Wonderful vacation
One of the best VRBO experiences we've ever had. Tom and Ty went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The property has all the conveniences and is maintained with a lot of care. The setting is spectacular with uninterrupted views of the volcanoes to the west. We will definitely stay there again.

A perfect mountain view retreat
Beautiful mountain views, well appointed home and attentive hosts. What more could we ask for from our stay. The location was perfect, close to family and near to some excellent side excursions. Our time here also provided 3 seasons during the week we stayed.... an added bonus for us. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose!

Tom and Tye's property is amazing. Beautiful views, quiet, and a ton of things to do without ever leaving the property. The property is close enough to town, but far enough to make it feel a little isolated. An easy drive to Bend or Sisters and about an hour and a half to some of the best whitewater rafting. We would highly recommend this property and will stay there again when we visit the area.

Amazing stay during a family wedding
The views are absolutely breathtaking from this beautiful home. The house was very well equipped with everything you could ask for. The information provided in the home guide was great to have. We had 5 adults ranging from 18 to 76 years old sharing the home as we were there for a family wedding at DD Ranch in Terrebonne. Tom was very responsive. I wish we would have had more time to relax and enjoy the property. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Great Family Vacstion
First and foremost, Tom and Tye were extraordinary. Accommodating, friendly, and very easy to work with. We loved the property and the house. It had everything we needed. When we had an additional request, Tom was very responsive in getting back to us. The view of Black Butte off the front porch was absolutely mesmerizing as well as all of the other beautiful mountains in that area. We can’t recommend this property highly enough :-)

Such a lovely place, stunning views and perfect hosts. We were greeted with an immaculate and massive house for us to work in and return to late at night. Fully stocked kitchen, beautiful porch, hot tub and comfy bed. The home is so quiet and peaceful and you just feel good being there. I feel really fortunate to have stumbled on this place, so close the stunning Smith Rock. I normally stay in Bend, but I am going to book this spot for years to come! It's perfect for work groups, large families, everything.

Cozy, comfortable home with amazing views!
A group of friends stayed for a birthday celebration weekend. What a wonderful home! With four bedrooms (all with king or queen beds) there was plenty of room to spread out, bathrooms galore, fully stocked kitchen, the list goes on and on! Tom gave us a tour and made sure we were settled in before leaving us to our relaxing weekend. We took full advantage of the hot tub to star gaze. The fire pit on the deck was perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails to watch the sunset. We will definitely be back!!

Fantastic Home in Terrebonne
We absolutely loved our stay at the Terrebonne house - gorgeous views, incredibly well-stocked kitchen and fantastic hosts. The home is set up with outdoor furniture all around in order to choose from sun or shade all day long. The gas fire pit & hot tub on the deck make for very enjoyable mornings & evenings. There is a swing set for the little kids and bocce / horseshoes for the bigger kids. The property is extremely peaceful and quiet, with easy access to food & activity in Terrebonne, Eagle Crest, Redmond, etc. I absolutely recommend this home to anyone, and we felt comfortable staying in this COVID environment given the depth of cleaning done between guests. Thank you Tom / Tyrene, we hope to be back again soon!

Gorgeous house and surroundings!
The hosts were terrific, very nice, welcoming and friendly. The house was immaculate and had everything that we needed. The grounds were spectacular, with lots of surprises and fun right near the house. The view was awesome, and even better from the hot tub. A note that we misunderstood from the VBRO site (video) that there would also be a separate basement available where we were going to put the older kids. I think the video was done for a realtor, for selling the house and not for VBRO, causing a little confusion. Otherwise it was great. Thank you!

Such a great place!
I almost don’t want to tell you all the great things about this property because then it will be hard to be able to rent it again because others will want it.. All the descriptions of the property are accurate as it was well equipped, but it is so much more. We loved all the outdoor places to go…the porch in the front had such great views and really comfy furniture. The outdoor play areas were fun and the three year old loved the play structure. Lots of great info provided by the owners in a notebook about the property and places to go around the area along with restaurant recommendations. We stayed for a week and it was the perfect relaxing vacation that was needed. We would definitely rent this property again. One other thing that was great. The water from their well was so good and refreshing…I had forgotten how wonderful deep well water could be.

Perfect Cozy Retreat with Amazing View!
We LOVED our stay at Tom & Tyrene's home. It was the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving week. The views from the patio are absolutely breathtaking. The property is wonderful because there are many outdoor activities - even in November. We played bocce on the well maintained bocce court, relaxed in the hot tub, and enjoyed appetizers by the porch fire pit (gas so super easy to start up; there is a regular wood fire pit on the property, as well). Our kids loved exploring the hiking trails on the property and playing on the swing set. The beds were very comfortable for everyone in our party. We've stayed in many rental homes and this kitchen was hands down the most well stocked we've experienced. We cooked every night (including Thanksgiving dinner) and the house had every dish/utensil/pot/pan we needed. The home also has a wonderful assortment of dishes and glassware. The home many nice touches, such as fall themed decor, shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathrooms and comfy bathrobes. Location is peaceful yet only ~20 minutes to adventure at Smith Rock State Park, ~30 mins to Bend and ~20 mins to Sisters. We've already booked a return trip for next year!

Beautiful Property, Beautiful Views, and Wonderful Hosts!
Our family of seven had a wonderful week-long trip to this lovely property in central Oregon. The house is beautiful inside and out, and more than well-equipped - we ate most of our meals at home (may not be our permanent home, but it sure felt like "home" to us). We enjoyed lively conversations on the front deck as the sun went down and put the volcanic peaks (from Mt Jefferson to Mt Bachelor - with an occasional view of Mt Hood) into sunset silhouette. After eating our meals on the deck we then had the joy of looking at the night sky and trying to identify the stars (thank goodness for the Starfinder app) while we enjoyed the gas fire pit with the entire family (teenagers, parents, and grandparents). There was plenty of space in the great-room for a challenging jigsaw puzzle and rousing games of Family Feud and Apples to Apples, as well as relaxing time on the three over-sized sofas. The area is surrounded by bucolic farmland and rugged high-desert landscapes - lots of trees, rocks and million-years old lava flows - and of course the surprisingly beautiful Deschutes river just down the road from the property. I enjoyed quite time in the hammock and the beautiful views. The bocce court was fun for the kids and their parents while we had a glass of wine in the gazebo. Our hosts, Tom and Tye Gary, are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet - they live on the property but their private residence is so separate from the rental space that you don't even know they are there unless you should need them. We've never spent time in central Oregon before and found our trip a wonderful experience - we enjoyed a bit of "city" time in Bend and Sisters, spent a day on Billy Chinook Lake, did a bit of fishing and hiking, fed nearby alpacas and took a couple of amazing drives into the mountains and along the lava flows. There were plenty of casual and a bit-more-fancy restaurants for any meals we wanted to eat out - I know we could have found lots more if we had been so inclined. It was a wonderful family vacation and we hope to come back for more. Thank you Tom and Tye
