We loved our stay! Only think was the shower temperature control was a bit dogey bur apart from that we were overwhelmed. My only criticism of this hotel is its advertising, it’s totally underplayed! Our kids had their own kids corner with 2 lovely single beds in their room and it was perfect! So lovely! Breakfast in the restaurant was incredible, we sat in a pod outside and it was stunning! So lovely!

The hotel and facilities were very good. The restaurant needs to review their menu especially as the only form of potato is skin on fries. Not everyone wants fries and naybe a little more finer food and less like all other chain restaurants.

Stayed just one night but had a great nights sleep. The village is wonderful. Sitting in the garden of the hotel and having a few drinks is a great way to unwind.

Lovely character room and large shower. Lots of nice touches in the room like fresh milk, large towels, desk, fan. If you have windows open, there is some road noise. Would stay again.

Location was convenient for the purpose of my stay. Staff were very friendly and professional. Service to my room was excellent. Julia made sure whatever we needed she went out of her way to provide. Definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We booked 3 Biggy Rooms a month ago .to celebrate my 70 th Birthday These are the more expensive rooms .with River views in The Main House On check in we were given two Biggy Rooms and one room across the car park . A dog friendly room ,we have no dog ! The room smelt of dog and a ,dog barking in the room next dioor.and I am allergic to dogs ! So went to reception and requested to be moved to a Biggy room in the main building . We were told they were full no rooms available Not avery helpful member of staff on reception was rather rude and said rooms were allocated and basically insinuated it was just t . I then said could i have a discount as this was s not the room I had booked and the response was they couldn’t do that . Suddenly two rooms became available! Cozy room and a comfy room ! Again both inferior rooms . I took the comfy room as it was in the main house and not too far from my 2 sisters rooms . I feel the the reception manager should have apologised and maybe offered a discount . It is a shame as the rest of the staff we encountered were lovely My sister who paid for this night was the one who apologised She was the first to arrive and there were two different retention staff ,Eho were both friendly . However there was no mention then that the original booking could not be honoured . Will we be back .Yes as we enjo going to the Sonning Theatre performances . But on booking I will contact the hotel and make sure we will be in the rooms requested .

A Justifiably Popular Hotel With Locals & Visitors
This is a very popular hotel not only for visitors to Sonning but also the local population. The rooms were excellent, the staff friendly and accommodating and the restaurant offered great food and service. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

Lovely comfortable rooms, bathroom and shower good, liked the modern feel and fabrics. Beautiful terrace, garden on the river, good bar area with comfy seats and sofas. Room 6 was a little on the hot side so has to use noisy fan but ok.
