Rustic cabin with a short walk to a very nice beach
Our family of 6 loved Panther Pond. We were on the lake for the entire day. The cabin provides a great place to crash at the end of a busy day. Rustic, clean and had everything we needed. Don was great, nice guy. Would stay there again.

Great Place!
We had a great stay at the Chalet! It's like roughing it, but with many upgrades that made it much easier. Unfortunately the weather made us unable to take advantage of all the amenities, but when we make it back this way, we'll be sure to return! Thanks so much!

Cozy but not so comfy
The property and the managers were great. It was very relaxing but the furniture and especially the beds could be updated. They were very old and not very comfortable. Not sure I would book again. The kids loved the canoes and the view was great.

A cozy cabin in the woods.
Dee’s Chalet is exactly as pictured - a cozy cottage away from it all. It’s clean and well stocked with kitchenware, towels, books, games, and movies. Nancy and Don even made us brownies! We enjoyed the beach and canoeing and hearing the loons on the pond. We went to Portland one day and took in a movie at Smitty’s one afternoon. We also went to the adventure park nearby. It was a perfect vacation. Thank you for having us!

Beautiful location
What a treat! The chalet was cozy, just like going back to grandma's house. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We invited family over and enjoyed a clambake outside at the firepit. A magical evening that we'll remember forever.

Fantastic vacation
Everything about our Maine accommodations was perfect. I'll take a secluded house in the woods on an ocean size lake over a crowded ocean beach anyday. Private Canoes, dock, a separate semiprivate lakefront beach shared with a couple other vacationers from other nearby but distant houses. Most of those with beachfront access (10-12 people) gather for the nightly sunsets over the water which are must-see events every single night. it's only a 30+ minute drive to Portland, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit for great eats and shopping. having a full house and the aforementioned amenities made this short drive more than tolerable. Some days we never left the property at all. My girls caught their first fish, (bass and salmon). I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat.

Classic Maine Summer Experience
We loved staying here with a group of children and adults, it is the classic Maine "lake camp" experience. Great fishing on the property and a wonderful lake beach with a dock accessible via a short (and really fun for kids) walk through the woods. The property is as advertised and the bedrooms were all very comfy; there was plenty of space to grill and eat outside. You could be very happy to spend the day just relaxing on the lake, but restaurants and activities in Windham and Portland are also not far away.

Great stay!
We had a great stay at the lake house! The property managers were so thoughtful and we found nothing lacking. The beach was fantastic, and the canoes were a lot of fun. We even had plenty of fans to keep us cool at night

Delightful, cozy cottage experience
Dee's Chalet was the perfect spot for our two weeks in Maine. The location was ideal and made a great home base for our visit: equidistant to our family, the coast, and Portland. Nancy and Don were excellent hosts, starting with a tray of fresh brownies! The beach was most comfortably accessed by canoe, which made for a fun little jaunt on the pond. The beach itself was awesome: sandy, warm, shallow and clean. I would love to stay again!! The only things that were disappointing were completely out of Nancy and Don's control: the wifi was unreliable (due to the provider) and the bugs were atrociously fierce. However, with bug spray and cell phone data, we were happy as clams. Thank you!

Our Wonderful Vacation in Maine
Our family had a great time at the Chalet in the woods on Panther Pond. We felt right at home from the time we arrived and were all sad to leave at week's end. Great location to do other things in the area, comfy house, incredibly quiet and peaceful, sandy, kid friendly beach area and use of canoe's and a rowboat. What else does one need on a family trip? The hosts are great and very thorough explaining everything to us upon arrival. House was very clean with everything you need for a week's stay. Kids loved swimming, fishing, canoeing and just exploring the woods in the area. All in all maybe our best family vacation spot yet!

Gorgeous and Very Enjoyable
We had a blast at Dee's Chalet. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, and our host, Nancy, even had pie and ice cream waiting for us when we arrived. The cabin was comfortable, the beach delightful, and there were canoes and a rowboat available for use. We enjoyed exploring the pond and the surrounding woods. Even on the few rainy days, there were games to play in the cabin. My ten year old daughter was enchanted by the whole experience. Hopefully, we'll be able to return next year!

A beautiful quiet spot!
Nancy and Don are warm and friendly hosts who welcomed us with open arms to their piece of paradise on earth. The chalet is on quiet Panther Pond with a dock that leads you to a lagoon-like spot filled with lily pads and aquatic life. The peacefulness and beauty of the pond did its trick as we felt the stress of city life float away from us. The chalet was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. Although there is a television available, none of us watched it, not even our kids!! This vacation will be a memorable one as it allowed the 4 of us to relax and get caught up in each others' lives before the madness of work and school set in in a few weeks. Thank you, Nancy and Don, for sharing your place with us.

A beautiful spot!
We just got back from a wonderful week at Nancy and Don's place at Panther Pond. The dock leads you to a beautiful lagoon-like setting filled with aquatic life and lily pads. The atmosphere calls for relaxation and you can just feel the stress float away as you sit by the dock watching the dragonflies buzz by. The chalet is more than comfortable and has everything that you possibly need. Nancy and Don are welcoming and generous hosts and are very informative. Although there is a television at the chalet, none of us turned it on, not even our teens! This vacation will remain one of the more memorable ones as it allowed the 4 of us to catch up on each others' lives before the stress of school and work set in in a few weeks. Thanks Don and Nancy for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Hideaway cottage on the side of a beautiful lake
We chose the location because our son was attending a nearby Scout camp - and what a lucky find! The cottage has a retro (1950's) style and was equipped with every possible thing we could need - right down to sellotape and plastic storage boxes. It was like a home from home. There is masses of space upstairs in the bedrooms and a good sized living area downstairs so it was very comfortable to stay in and read. The TV channels were limited (which we didn't mind at all as most US TV is unwatchable) and internet access was intermittent - but we coped with that through using the numerous local venues having free wi-fi. The owners provide canoes and a row boat and there is access to swim on the lake from a private beach which we made considerable use of during our stay as it was SO hot! And our son caught a sizeable fish in the lake during his weekend off, so he was very happy. There is plenty to do in the area so lots of day trips out and there are plenty of amenities (restaurants, supermarkets, laundry, cinema etc.) within a short drive. Can particularly recommend "the Good Life" nearby for awesome salads and good breakfasts. Also the "Black Bear cafe" just outside Naples is worth a short drive for food and atmosphere (and live music some evenings). The owners provided lots of local information as well as recommendations and our week just flew by. The only complaint - and this is probably insurmountable - was the population of mosquitoes which was virulent. It would have been nice to sit outside (especially in the heat) and take full advantage of the picnic table and BBQ but we tried it one evening and were just eaten alive. A lovely, lovely week which we hope to repeat sometime.

Fantastic family getaway!!!
The house hidden in the woods on the lake was exactly what my family and I were hoping for. It had everything we needed: dishes, linens, canoes, and grill. The fire pit was a hit with the kids for s'mores. Everything was very nearby, including shopping, markets, lakes and boating. We had the best time. Nancy and Don were very accommodating. Thanks again!! We'll be back next Summer.

Fantastic family fun getaway
We found this home to be the perfect little hidden getaway. Nancy and Don were so friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of dishes and linens. Gas grill, canoes, row boat, and life jackets were also on site. All the comforts of home. The place was immaculate but cozy. Just what we were looking for. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. We had friends join us at the end of the week and they were just as happy as we were with the place. Beach access and only 10 min ride to town was perfect. We are already planning our next trip back. Thanks again, Nancy and Don.

Wonderful secluded setting!
What a great get-away spot! Quiet secluded location on a lovely lake, yet only a short drive to Portland. Very accommodating owners! Great Bass fishing on Panther Pond, and actually caught some of our largest Bass right off the dock! The chalet has all the basic amenities with potable water. Very comfortable beds! Thank you Nancy & Don- we look forward to returning next year!
