"On arrival, we found food from previous guests in the bread bin, the kitchen utensils and the kitchen cupboards were dirty. On leaving, we found underwear from a previous guest under one of the children's beds. One of the double beds was clearly broken and had a massive dip in one side. Outdoor furniture tired and tatty. I wanted to love this little house with its medieval quirks but it was way below standard for the price. "

"This property is good for a weekend or midweek stay for two but I would not recommend for a family, unless they wish to use it as a hotel and go out for the day. It is fully equipped with kitchen cookware but there is very little room to prepare a meal. Our stay was pleasant and the beds very comfortable but the bathroom is very small, there is little room for toiletries and the shower spray leaks water. "Great location away from the hustle and bustle of York. Easy walking distance to shops and pubs. The only issue we had was that the bathtub was very slow to drain, an easy fix. "
