SADDLEBACK SKI MOUNTAIN - BEST MOUNTAIN IN MAINE

One of the best mountain condos with unobstructed sweeping views of the mountains, valley, and Saddleback Lake make the perfect get-away for friends and family. Watch the occasional moose and other wildlife pass or observe breathtaking sunsets from the deck and wall of windows. Slope side location (Grey Fox Lane - Rock Pond II) provides skiing right from the back door onto the best-valued, family friendly mountain in Maine. Enjoy your company relaxing on the leather couch in front of the warmth of the fireplace with stone hearth in a cozy living room with cathedral ceiling and exposed wooden beams. Very comfortable high end beds include two kings, two bunk bed sets in four radiant heated rooms. Full kitchen with granite counter tops and a dining table for eight. High end mud room entryway gives added value for your stay as a spot to store all the extra outdoor gear. Free wireless internet, TV attached to internet, local phone calls, towels and linens, and washer/dryer are included. 10 minutes from the town of Rangeley.

Mountain and Surroundings: Ski and boarding trails from beginner to expert, along with two terrain parks and the largest gladed trail in the northeast make Saddleback the next up and coming mountain. Nordic Center has over 50 miles of trails for cross-country and snowshoeing. Spring, summer, and fall use allow for hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, mountain bicycling, swimming, and lake sports in the area. Five minute walk to the full service Saddleback Lodge for two restaurants, a bar, guide services, ski school, ski rentals, boat rentals, reception services, free wireless internet, and special events year round, especially on holidays. A picturesque location for a simple get-away, weddings, family retreats, or conferences.

Equipment: Equipment for areas activities are not provided with condo, however, are available for rent in the region (boats, skis, ski tickets, fat tire bikes, snowshoes, ice skates, golf clubs, etc).

Summer Spring Fall Delight: Peaceful Summers have tons of activities in the area. Hike to the top of Saddleback for some of the best above tree line landscape of the Appalachian trail with 360 degree views. Simple walks to Rock Pond or Saddleback lake afford great fishing opportunities. Dirt trails near the lake and on the mountain are a mountain bicycler's dream. As part of the association, you can use our group's canoes or kayaks. Or just sit back on the deck and watch the sunset drop while moose occasionally saunter by. In fall, the collage of colors heighten the senses even more. Summer activity schedules are being developed by the mountain to make this a 4 season destination.

Perfect for the family!
We stayed here over New Years 2010 and had a fantastic time! The condo is in a perfect location for ski in/ski out - and sledding and snowball fights! The owner was pleasant and easy to deal with, responsive to questions. We hope to return many times!

Ski Weekend
This condo is great - it is in a terrific location for skiing, and has gorgeous views of the lakes and mountains near Rangeley. We skied easily to and from the lifts. The condo has everything you could want - the kitchen is well-equipped, there is a washer and dryer, and the host has everything labeled - you even know which light switch does what! There is also a gas fireplace that really adds a nice touch to the living room and kitchen space. We would definitely return!

Relax and Unwind
We just spent a week at this property and we had such a wonderful time! Saddleback is working hard to be a four-season destination and they offered various activities throughout the week--particularly for kids, including a free s'more night, campfire and all! Because it isn't a particularly busy time of year, it was perfect for our family to be in the mountains and relax and unwind from our busy lives; it felt like we were alone on a mountain retreat, which is exactly what we needed. The condo itself is just awesome; it's well-equipped and clean and has great natural lighting. The view of Saddleback Lake and the surrounding mountains is gorgeous. The condo is extremely close to the entrance to the Fly Rod Crosby Trail, which was a great hike for our family (with kiddos ranging from 9-15 years old). It is also close to town; we spent a couple of days at Rangeley State Park and visiting some of the museums. We can't wait to stay again!

Perfect home and location for skiing families!
I stayed at this lovely property with my husband, our son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. The property is clean and modern. Our host was kind enough to leave the outside lights on, knowing we'd be arriving in the evening. Skiing on and off was very easy: my 7 year-old grandson had no difficulties, and he's a learner. The two levels made it perfect for our stay, giving our son and his family the privacy of an entire floor, including their bedrooms and bathroom. I would love to stay again in the future if the property is available. Saddleback is a great family skiing mountain!

Beautiful and quiet.
Property was beautiful and quiet - just what we were looking for. The interior was spotless (however there was dog poop right in the front walkway- and dogs are not allowed in this apartment- so likely a neighbor who failed to clean up.) the Owner was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Can’t wait to go back.

Perfect!

So nice we visited twice
We were repeat guests, and we enjoyed our stays on both visits. The owner provides guests with great information on recommendations for dining and activities. That is a real help for first time visitors. The condo is spacious, clean, will have everything you need, and offers spectacular sunset views off the back patio. The condo offers ski in/out access and is very well maintained. The new addition of the mud room in the front added a nice touch for your ski gear. 5 stars!

Great Weekend Getaway
Our family, including our three children and spouses, and grandbaby stayed for a three day weekend. Spacious, clean and well equipped condo. Cozy and comfortable condo, ski in/ski out
We once again enjoyed our stay at Saddleback in this wonderful condo. It is so clean and comfortable. Our family is able to enjoy the ski in and out ease. We love that we can come back to the condo at lunch time for a quick and easy meal and be back out on the slopes again in no time. The kitchen is wonderful and we are able to make dinner every night. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out so that the kids can do homework or find quiet space to read or we can all gather in front of the fireplace and play games. We are happy that we can feel comfortable enough with the small size of the mountain to let our kids and their friends ski on their own, yet the trails are challenging enough that everyone can ski/snowboard at their own level. Our children also enjoy sledding at night and we have snowshoed/hiked on the trails when we don't feel like skiing. There is certainly plenty to do. We always come back from the weekend feeling renewed and refreshed. We look forward to going again.

fun in the snow! with kids! and easy!
We had a great time with our teenage kids. They could ski out the door and return home on their own as well. They were outside having fun all day. We mostly ate at the condo (great dining room table for all to sit at) but occasionally had snacks and hot chocolate at the lodge. One night the kids ate while we relaxed at the fire in the lodge. Beds at the condo were comfortable and large (king and bunk beds) while the floor plan made for privacy when needed and common spaces for connections. overall a great time made easy.

A Great Stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at your Saddleback condominium! The property was in excellent condition and was not lacking in any way. Two levels gave us all plenty of privacy when we wanted it. The beds were very comfortable. The well outfitted kitchen made cooking in easy. We saved money by not feeling like we needed to eat out. The location was superb. The view was gorgeous and skiing was awesome! We loved that you could ski right out from the condo when we were ready to hit the slopes. It was a great place to have a family vacation and create wonderful memories with our kids! We'll be back!

Great Condo
This condo is fantastic. There is plenty of room and privacy and everything was very modern. The view, the ski-in/ski-out, and amenities were all perfect. I think Saddleback is the best ski mountain in Maine right now and I look forward to going back and renting this condo again.

Beautiful condo!!!
We loved this condo. Right on a great sledding hill for our little ones and very convenient to the lodge. They didn't groom the ski in/ski out trail but the weather was so frigid, we didn't have occasion to use it any way! The house itself was very clean, nicely decorated and very comfy. We loved the gas fireplace but prefer a wood one ourselves for the smell. But can't beat the convenience. The skiing/riding was great - I recommend the ski lessons for the little ones. Excellent, personal instruction.

Skiing, Hiking, Gorgeous Sunsets!
I love this condo! It is well supplied and has gorgeous views. The walk-out basement door made it easy for the children to come and go (and play outside) and the mountains called us to hike almost every day. Great setting! I especially liked sitting on the deck in the evening with a glass of good wine watching the indescribably spectacular sunset. Now I want to come back in the winter to try the walk-out skiing!

Great family ski get away!
We had alot of fun! It was great to ski in and out of the condo - the kids would go back to the condo for food and rest and be back out on the slopes before we could catch up! The view of the lake and mountains stretches 180 degrees with no civilization in site - spectacular. The king size beds and private rooms made for good catch up sleep time and the dining area was roomy enough for all. Overall a great time for our family!

Great nexus for family winter getaway
Comfortable spacious condo with spectacular views of Rangely Lake located on the slopes of Saddleback mountain Ski resort. Kids love convenience of skiing from the front door. We love that Saddleback offers great skiing for all. The kids can venture out on the slopes and check in for lunch or a break, and at the end of the day skiing right to front door. The condo is large enough to accommodate multiple families and kids. Large living room with breath taking views. The bedrooms are private and well furnished, the beds are large and comfortable. Plenty of hot water for the bathrooms. It is well cared for and very clean, like being at home. The ski lodge is a 5 min walk down the road if you need a beer or a meal. Town is a 20min drive down the mountain if you need groceries or a restaurant. This has been a great find and I highly recommend it.

Cool breezes and gorgeous sunsets
This condo is outstanding--clean, great views, and good layout. Sipping wine on the balcony while watching the sunset was amazing! Loved the furnishings--especially the crossed skis above the fireplace. Kitchen was very nice. Hope to come back again, maybe for ski season. It looked like we could ski right out the sliding door on the bottom floor. Good value!
