Excellent
This rental is perfect for a large family or group. Plenty of bedrooms and the common space is so spacious. The outdoor space is open and flat and the sandy beach is perfect for little ones. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for our family
This was our fifth summer at the Ark.With many rooms, baths, and two complete kitchens, the Ark allows us to feed a crowd, join one or two others for a game or a puzzle, canoe, kayak, swim, read to the grandchildren in the "bunk room," or find a quiet spot to catch up on our own reading. We look forward to our week each year.

Wonderful getaway
We had an amazing vacation here. The kids enjoyed the clear and calm water that they could walk out on safely as it stays fairly shallow for a while. We also had a great time catching many little fish from the dock and canoe. We hiked three trails all within 20mins of the house and had dinner and ice cream one night right on the Main Street. The stars were a highlight every night of our stay. Highly recommend!

Great Family Vacation Spot
We had a great week on Gull Pond at the Ark. There was plenty of room for 6 families. The grassy lawn, the many deck choices, and the sandy shallow beach was perfect for our little ones! We can't wait to head back next summer! Morton and Furbish has great communication as well. Highly recommend renting through them directly instead of going through a third party site.

We love the Ark!
This was our family's 7th summer of gathering at the Ark. It is perfect for our vacation: room for children, spouses, and grandchildren. The swimming area is great both for the teens and the toddlers. We love the loons and the sunsets, but most of all we enjoy "cousin time," good food, and a relaxing setting. We will be back.

Amazing Stay
Our family would highly recommend “The Ark”. The space is massive and easily accommodates large parties. Two kitchens and two living rooms is unheard of - this rental offers that. The waterfront is also ideal with sandy bottom, weedless swimming and plenty of space. We enjoyed canoeing and fishing, lawn games and relaxation. If you’re planning a vacation for several people, this is the place to book!

Ark
Our family has thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ark for the past three years. The home is clean and equipped with everything we need for a comfortable stay. Our children and grandchildren never have a dull moment with fishing, boating and swimming every day. This past stay was spectacular with the weather. We could not have asked for better. We hope to keep this tradition going for many years to come. Labor Day weekend 2024 here we come!

Awesome Home!!
We came for a week of ATV'n with 9 people total. Other than a gas grill, which I saw in another's review, the house lacked NOTHING! We brought our own grill :) We will schedule our next trip around the availability of this unit. Both kitchen's were fully furnished and plenty of HOT water for the showers...and plenty of room for 9-15ppl to spread out. Ample parking for 3 trucks and trailers...Cant wait to go back!!

Returning Vacationer
This is our 2nd trip to the Ark...and where we will return to again! Spacious is an understatement. We had 4 couples and a single with PLENTY of room for more....House was clean, neat, and tidy. This trip the weather got cool enough to turn on the gas wood stove in the evening which really heated the house up quick. Enough parking for 4 trucks and trailers - tight, but manageable. No complaints! Look forward to returning again....

Perfect for large family
This was our second year renting the Ark and it did not disappoint! It's perfect for our large family to gather and have privacy. The flat lawn and the shallow sandy lake was perfect for the kids to swim safely. The sunsets can't be beat! We hope to go back here again!

A Good Stay with Some Disappointing Issues
My family and friends stayed in the Ark (both sides) early summer 2024 and had a great time with some issues. The Good *It's very close to the water *The water is shallow and warm. Perfect for little and big ones. *The bottom is mostly sand for quite a ways out from shore with a very gradual drop. *Less than a 10 minute drive to all the amenities in town. *The huge Great Room is an excellent gathering place. I dare say perfect. *The Morton & Furbush folks were had excellent communication and follow-up. *Beautiful pine board walls and accents through most of the place. *WiFi works well and handles a good load *The kitchens were well stocked with everything we needed. The only thing we wanted that they didn't have was a soft spatula. *The provided kayaks were great. The Bad *There are some maintenance issues. Such as a toilet that wouldn't flush as a piece was broken but replaced with a paperclip. *There were two leaks during a rainstorm that came through the ceiling. One of which we were asked to catch in a bucket. We did, but it needed to be emptied throughout one night. That put quite a damper on my following day. But they asked and it seemed like the right thing to do. *Some of the beds are exceptionally uncomfortable. The most notable example is the bed upstairs on the small side of the Ark. It's like sleeping in a bowl. *Goose poop. There is goose excrement everywhere between the building and the water. All over the lawn, the dock, the deck, etc. definitely not hygienic to go barefoot anywhere here or let little ones play without VERY close supervision. *There is no air conditioning. If high heat and humidity are a concern, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. We enjoyed our stay and may return with appropriate preparations first, such as brining our own air mattresses. Despite some concerns, the excellent communication from Morton & Furbush is definitely noteworthy.

Family Camp Week
Our three generational family have returned to The Ark each July for 10+ years. We love the bunk room for the cousins, the proximity of the swimming area, the room to play board games and do puzzles, and the two kitchens to cook family meals. We look forward to returning.

The Ark
Our family absolutely loves the ARK - we stay in both sides as we have a large family. It fits us all with room to spare. We used the canoe and paddled around Gull Pond. The loons are fun to see and we saw deer near the house. The large dining room table fits us all for family dinners and is the best part of the day for my Dad. Down town Rangeley has great restaurants - especially Furbish - nice to sit outside! We rented ATV's and spent the day having a lot of fun. The Alpine shop and other shops have some great stuff. Overall a great vacation and a great place to stay.

Beautiful
This house is absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed every minute of it. The house is spacious, plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. It had everything we needed, very clean and well maintained. The lake is nice and clean. Very relaxing, we went kayaking, canoeing, swimming. Shallow area great for kids. Management office was great to work with, someone is always available. We would definitely go back. We had a great family vacation, we couldn’t be happier!

The Ark on Gull Pond
This was a wonderful stay at the Ark! It was perfect for multiple families. There were many bedrooms and baths and even a very private space for the grandparents with a small bathroom and lake views! We felt that there were no items which were so fragile that we had to put them out of reach of little hands! A plus for sure! Everything was exceptionally clean with fluffy towels and smooth crisp sheets to add to the Luxery! The lake and surrounding area were so quiet Except for the loons calling at night! The beach area and swimming was also perfect for children as the water was warm and it was not very deep! This was a wonderful spot for small family reunions! The only item I would have wished for was a vacuum cleaner in order to Better clean up after ourselves! There is not one other thing that could have made our time together as a family more perfect! Thank you to the owners and Morton and Furbish! We loved it and would stay again.... in a heartbeat!

Location was extrodinary. Love the space of the rental. We did however find the beds extremely uncomfortable and we had a hard time sleeping. Also, note that I found a couple of fleas in the upstairs queen bedroom - just so you can resolve that if needed. We would definatly stay here again as the pros outweighed the cons!

our family of 15 had a great stay. lots of swimming and kayaking. house very nice and quiet. The only down side is there is NO AC or gas grill. I was glad I brought our outside canopy as there is no cover from the sun outside.
