Welcome to The Dream House, a stunning retreat just 6.8 miles from downtown Raleigh and 6 miles from North Carolina State University. Situated on a peaceful 2-acre lot, this home was inspired by the iconic 1994 Life Magazine Dream House, designed by renowned architect Robert Stern. Perfect for family gatherings or a relaxing getaway, this property offers a blend of comfort, charm, and unique character.

    •    Basement suite: A 500 sq. ft. retreat with a queen bed, sofa bed, private bathroom, and refrigerator.
    •    Bonus room: (attic) A cozy 340 sq. ft. attic space.
    •    Nanny room: Adjacent to the main floor master bedroom with a trundle bed (2 singles). There’s a room divider provided for you for a little privacy.

Awesome Place!!!
We were in town for a family wedding, stayed Wednesday thru Sunday. Great area, very close to everything, quiet neighborhood and all of the amenities you would ever need. This house was absolutely amazing, it’s super clean, the beds were very comfy, it has everything you need, plus some and there was more than enough space for our group of 9. We were in NC for a baseball tournament and if we ever play here again, we will definitely book this house again!!!

Great outdoor deck
The outdoor deck is a great asset of this house. It is private and accommodates a large group. The house was clean with comfortable beds in the bedrooms, nice bathrooms, and a kitchen stocked with all that we needed. It comfortably sleeps 8 people with 4 full beds. The only downfall is that we didn't find the day bed and pullout couch to be comfortable so this is something to consider if you have to sleep more than 8 people. Otherwise, we enjoyed this home.

We enjoyed our stay here--the house was in a lovely wooded setting, and was roomy for the 7 adult guests that stayed. The kitchen was amazing. Perfect location for our group to attend rowing races at Lake Wheeler for two days and the graduation events at Duke University over the weekend.

Great Family Stay
Our group of 10 stayed here for a family wedding weekend. The house worked out great for our group. Plenty of room for all of us. We really enjoyed the outdoor areas, the deck had a table large enough to accommodate our whole group, making for a wonderful outdoor family breakfast! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this property. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your beautiful house.

Very impressed…Beautiful home on a big piece of property…. Amenities galore. We did not need a thing…. Amazing back porch to hang out on…Easy drive to everywhere you may want to go… I recommend going to The Blind Pelican restaurant if you have time… it’s about a 20 minute drive… Sooooo worth it.

NC State Homecoming Weekend
5 of us NC State alumni gathered in the Big Yellow House for our annual football game weekend reunion. Not only were we able to enjoy our Wolfpack win a big game against Clemson, we had a wonderful time reconnecting and especially enjoyed our time on the large deck. Quiet neighborhood, roomy house and very comfortable beds throughout. Felt like we were out in the country but still close proximity to NC State and downtown Cary. Enjoyed it all! Thanks to our wonderful host!

AMAZING!!!!!
This home is absolutely gorgeous and very clean! My family and I stayed for three days. It was more than enough room for 4 adults and 2 kids. They owners were amazing!!!. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us a quick walk through and left us to our weekend. I felt like I was going to a friend's house for the weekend. We will definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.
